He sat across from her in study hall. Things between them lately had been confusing, but this seemed to be the only peace he had in life. Yet, she always seemed to bring the chaos with her. The complexity of their friendship stemmed from the emotions behind them. Thayre wanted nothing more than for her to feel the same, while she tried to keep her social status intact.
He stared at her furiously, trying to read into her soul. He bit his bottom lip as he tried to figure out what she was thinking. Rumor going around school was Amber had a weekend fling with Hunter Gaines at her dad's boat. Thayre tried to read her face to see if it was factual but she was not giving any signs.
'What's your problem?" Amber asked obliviously.
Thayre gawked at Amber furiously. "Hunter….really? I knew you had bad taste in men, Amber…but…"
"Oh watch it, Thayre. You're one to talk…Tabitha…isn't that what they usually name witches in movies?" Amber snorted.
"Fool." He said drumming his pencil on his notebook. Amber rolled her eyes annoyed.
"Whatever," She replied scornful as she popped her pink bubble with her teeth.
Thayre wiped the side of his mouth on his sleeve as a means to distract his next thought from being verbalized. He continued to stare at Amber who now had her textbook over over her face.
He gripped his pencil tightly. He studied her complexion and breathed in her scent.
He placed the pencil led on his notebook paper and let the words flow through him naturally.
You're so manipulative.
You make me sick.
You twist my soul into nothing.
You break me in half with your smile.
You can't keep your eyes off of me.
I stare you down with awkward glances.
I can't stand this obsession anymore.
Your seduction carries me into my dreams.
I see you in my nightmares, too.
I can feel your presence on my body.
I distract myself with others but my heart beats for you love.
Answer me, dark beauty. Answer me.
I'm calling you in a whisper but you can't hear my screams.
Like secondhand smoke, I feed off your fumes.
You are cancer on my soul, dark beauty.
You mutate my cells into a suffering death,
but everyday, my heart only beats for you.
"What are you writing?" Amber asked placing her textbook down on her desk.
"It doesn't matter. Nothing matters. It never changes anything!" Thayre then tossed the notebook aggressively into Amber's direction.
"Thayre, I…."
"Just don't." He said crossing his arms and placing them on the desk for a quick nap. He fought back a solitary tear that tried to escape from his eye. "Every day, my heart beats for you." He echoed. "But you'll never know."
Authors Note: I really hope you enjoy my 2nd one-shot of Teenage Dirtbag. I am kinda sad that nobody is posting fanfiction. The movie was so amazing and heart-felt! It took me awhile to write the poem but I don't think it was my best piece of work *sighs* I've been trying to write a full story but I just don't have the time right now. Anyways, hope ya liked it!
