Drabble Prompt: It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

He sat there on Halloween night. He had turned down a chance to go to a party with his friends. He would wait every year at the same place for many hours. It was the agreed place and it always would be. The day would always be the same. There he waited for a no show, and he did so every year.

Meanwhile his best friend was trying everything he had to get one date. There were absolutely no takers. Try as he might, Derek Morgan was going to be dateless once again. I feel like Charlie Brown getting the three rocks, thought Morgan. He was going to go to Garcia's party with no date. What could be worse?

Worse was his best friend sitting in the Pumpkin Patch Cafe waiting for someone to never show. Which was what Spencer Reid did that year instead of going to Garcia's party. Around about 2 am the owner came to tell Reid what he told him every year at exactly this time. "Mr. Reid we are closing, you have to go."

"See you in 365 days." Reid said as he was paying his bill.

Reid was walking to his car, when he saw Morgan going home alone. Reid managed to flag Morgan down. "How was your Halloween?" asked Reid wanting to know how Garcia's party went.

"I am going home alone but next year will be better. How was your night in the Pumpkin Patch? " Morgan replied.

"How did you know I spent my Halloween there?" asked Reid

"We all know where you go for Halloween. You bring a cup of coffee from that place every Halloween morning and every time you get a break you bring back another cup from that place." said Morgan

"I spent the night waiting for a woman I love to show up. I look for her there every chance I get on Halloween. She did not show tonight, but she will be there next year." said Reid

"I guess this Halloween was not one made for love. Next year we both will be going home with a beautiful girl." said Morgan

"I hope you are right." said Reid

"I know I am right kid." said Morgan

They said quick goodbyes and went home. Both of them went with hope that they would not be going home alone next Halloween.

Did you catch the references? I hope so. You know I would go to the Pumpkin Patch Cafe with three rocks while missing a party... not really but I wanted to highlight that for everyone.
