Ok so for those who haven't read this story before (good for you, it was crappy) I've started over. So here is revised and edited chapter one and yeah the others are on their way.

Max's POV

Alright so how the heck are you supposed to be mad at someone, when they are so so so happy with your agreement? Ok, that probably didn't make sense. So I'm just gonna back it up a bit. This past week my dad has been acting unusually happy. Yeah he's a happy person, but like he's really amped it up this week. Along with that, there have been tons of secret phone calls late at night in his study. And once I swear I heard him say "Valencia, don't worry about it, Max'll be fine" Max is the shortened version of my full name, Maximum Ride. But not the point, 'Valencia' is my sorta mom. I mean she is but my dad and her are divorced and I never really got the chance to know her. The only memory I have of her are some chocolate chip cookies she made for me once when I was like 1 or a couple of months. And apparently little miss birthday sex came along after the divorce, Ella. I don't know for sure if she was an accident but I really don't care. So Ella's my half sister, I haven't really talked to her but she seems chill I guess...?

Besides that, he's been filling out tons of paperwork and he also got his passport renewed. Suspicious much? I know somethings up, I'm not exactly what you would call stupid. Ugh, instead of keeping secrets he should just tell-

"Max, sweetie? Please come down here, I have some excellent news!" called my dad from downstairs. About time, I thought as I barreled down the stairs.

"Yeah?" I asked catching my balance on the slick hardwood floor.

"Um well... I...I just thought you should know... uh-" he stammered not looking me in the eye.

"Dad!" I said impatiently tapping my foot, "get on with it" He cleared his throat and tried again,

"I've been accepted into a huge science convention overseas!" He continued grinning excitedly. "All the bigshots will be there and it lasts a month" he exclaimed grimacing at the last part.

"Dad that's great!" I cried throwing my arms around him. My dad was Jeb Ride, the Jeb Ride. He was actually quite famous in the science world, being a great scientist and all. This was probably huge for him.

"Maxie, dear well the convention is on Monday..."

"Cool"

"Overseas.."

"Ok"

"It's Friday..."

"I know"

"Uh and well the thing is, I only have one ticket for the convention, no guests"

"S'ok dad"

"Soo-"

"I can just chill here by myself or stay at JJ's house" I said nonchalantly.

"Max," he said sternly clearing his throat, "I've already made arrangements. You'll be driving to Arizona to stay with your mother."

"Woah there," I said stepping back from our embrace. "you didn't even ask me!"

"Honey, it's all worked out. You'll be staying there for a month and going to school with Ella. It will be a great chance for you to catch up!" he beamed while cautiously checking my reaction.

"Where's my say in this?" I protested, "I'm a sophmore in highschool, I can look after myself!"

"Maxie, it's for the best," he sighed patting my shoulder.

"No! Actually it's not! I'm almost halfway through the year, how am I supposed to make friends? My life is here in Virginia! And if I can't stay here by myself I'm always welcome at JJ's house and you know it!" I snapped jerking away from his touch.

"Please Max!" he cried as I stomped back up the stairs.

I rampaged to my room and slammed my door. 'How could he ask me to do this?' said the selfish part of me said outraged. 'How could I not let him chase his dream?' the other part of me asked.

I sighed and flopped down on my bed. One month wasn't that bad. As long as I had Ella I should be fine. I think...

I walked over to my closet throwing out my favorite pairs shirts and pants. I chucked my blue and gray Vans on my bed with the my other clothes. Sitting back down on my bed I grabbed my phone and texted JJ about the situation. Her response was the same as mine, she knew I was welcome to stay at her house. 'Why are you so nice? You didn't have to give in :(' she argued using about 11 crying emojis. I told her I would miss her and our whole lunch crew. She didn't respond. So much for that

"Max, dinner time!" my dad yelled.

"I'm not that hungry," I yelled back. Truth be told I was starving, but I was not going to give him the satisfaction of knowing that.

I folded all my clothes and put them into both of my old backpacks. Who was I kidding, I couldn't stay mad at him forever. But if I knew that I had the chance to stop him from going I would take it in a heartbeat. And that made me even more pissed than I was before. I'm his daughter for crying out loud, I should be happy for him. After all he's done for me, this is honestly the least I could do for him. I think sometimes that it's kind of stupid, but I have this little mantra I repeat. A little motto I've used since the 5th grade. When life gets rough, pick yourself back up, and keep on rollin'. And that's what I'll have to do then, just keep on rollin'

Fang's POV

"Fang, Nudge? Come downstairs, I've got some big news!" I heard my mom call from downstairs. Great I hoped Grandma wasn't deciding just to drop in all of a sudden like last time. That was torture. I ran downstairs see my mom and my adopted sister Nudge waiting for me in the living room. Once Nudge saw that I had entered the room she immediately started babbling away.

"Mom, what's the big news? Are you pregnant? Are we getting a pet dog or a fish? Cause fish are totes cool and in right now! Could we name it Rainbow? Oh never mind we should sooooo name it Sparkles. Sparkles is a great name if it had glittery fish scales thingys! Or I could name it Glitter that would be sooo awesome, and I could also have this thingy mabobber that I could carry it around wherever I go and show everybody. Ooooooh I could also design the fishbowl as a princes castle thing, it would be totes awesome! It could have a moat and everything! Wait is that possible to have a moat underwater? Cause isn't a moat like-

"Nudge, please," my mom said abruptly cutting her off "stay on topic." Nudge blushed and asked "What did you call us down here for?"

"I was just trying to get to that, anyway Valencia called and said that her daughter Max would be moving in with her for a month while her dad is away on a science convention overseas," she paused and said "she's in your grade so I would like you guys to make her feel welcome and walk her to school on Monday. Is that too much to ask?" She said looking up at me and Nudge with pleading eyes. I just shrugged as if to say whatever, I mean seriously I really didn't care. Social interaction with strangers wasn't exactly my thing.

"OMG!" Nudge squealed, "I hope she likes fashion and will go to the mall with me and Ella. We could like go to the mall every day after school and buy all the newest out fits! We could curl each other's hair and do each other's make up! EEEE, this will be so cool, fun, and fantaboulous!" Then she ran upstairs probably to go text Ella.

"Fang?" my mom asked getting my attention.

"Yeah," I mumbled.

"At least try to be social, she's probably different than what you're imagining."

I just shrugged and said "I'm not making any promises," having no idea how different this girl was.

Ayyee, alright not that much better, but yeah. As you noticed I didn't really change Fang's POV just Max's. Anyway review and all that jazz :) CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM WELCOME
