Mailman, Mailman do your duty here comes Miss American beauty. She can do the pompom, she can do the twist. But most of all she can kiss, kiss, kiss!
It started out just like an ordinary Saturday. Holly J was having brunch with her wealthy, politician parents in their old house in Toronto. They had finally moved back home and Holly J was more then exited.
" You cannot let them know you did this! Do you understand Clara?"
If only her parents weren't fighting...
Holly J sat straight up in the table eating toast and jam watching her parents fight like it was a movie.
"It's not even going to matter. Remember the last rumor?" Her mother stammered
their conversation was getting ugly and Holly J realized it was about something she didn't know. Her dad gave her a sigh and a hopeless look. Don't look at me, not my problem she shrugged him off.
"Holly J can you please go fetch the mail for me?" Her dad asked
Typical. The only perfect excuse to get Holly J or Heather away from a fight, or conversation was to ask for random postal favors. She had learned to ignore the fights as if nothing was going on until " Holly J please but me some stamps or Holly J, we need envelops" came around. It meant leave, it's gonna get ugly. of course, it never truly did. Her parents always found how to make it work for the sake of their daughters. With Heather now in college, Holly J only had one more year and they could split for good. It wasn't much they had to be with each other anyway since Mr. Sinclair had to fly around the whole year. She had to put up with them during the summers.
Holly J stepped out of her cold, air conditioned home and into the warm summer day. The sun lit her red hair making it gleam a darker red and it blocked her eyesight a little bit. She made her way down the long front lawn entry path to find that the mail man was still there. Hmm, I'm in luck, I wondered how old Jack Coyne is doing. She presented herself right in front of the truck with a bright, welcoming smile for Jack only to find a young man looking for her mail while still sitting down. "Well this house gets a lot. I thought no one lived here?" The man said looking up to Holly J while still reaching for her mail. That's odd "
"We come for the summers. But now we're here..." Holly J replied taking in the young mans big blue eyes. They were neon. She felt they were gonna pop out any second. He's cute.
"Well, I think this is it Miss... Sinclaip? "He said trying to read her last name off the mail box.
Holly J struggled with all the papers, envelops and magazines. She was so lost for words at the moment; she forgot what she wanted to ask him.
"Its Sinclair... Holly J Sinclair. What happened to old man Jack?" She bluntly questioned him with an arm on her hip
"Well, Miss 'Holly J' Sinclair. My great grandfather passed away last April, so I took over his job ". This time, he looked her right in the eye.
Holly J was smittend. She bit her lip and looked down at the ground.
"I'm soory " she found to say
"Yea, well I'm soory too but I got more mail to deliver Miss Sinclair" he said looking around the neighborhood and the back at her.
Holly J had his complete eye contact. She blushed pink and smiled like a little girl would, embarrassed of how much time she had held him up for. The young man smiled right back at her.
"Thanks"
And with that, she walked back in not realizing the mail truck stayed until she got inside.
