Walt Disney
I read the book Walt Disney Maker of Magical Worlds.
By: Bernice Selden
Walt was born in 1901, in a small town outside of Chicago. Walt's childhood was not easy , he and his
family often moved from place to place. Walt had three brothers and one sister. Herbert, Raymond, Roy, and Ruth. Walt was the youngest. They first lived on a farm with lots of animals. Normally if someone didn't do something right working on the farm the father would beat them. He had never even given them money for working so hard on the farm, so Herbert and Raymond had run away. A year later they moved to Kansas City. Roy and Walt had gotten older and Roy had run away to join the navy. Walt had missed him a lot. As a child he started drawing cartoons, and had convinced his dad to let him join a Saturday morning art school. When he got older he started to draw Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and many others. Today his magic lives on. Walt Disney died on December 15th, 1966.
Walt had many major accomplishments like winning a Oscar for Donald Duck and The three little pigs. Other things were that Walt had created his first nature film called Seal Island, and many others, but his biggest accomplishment was creating Disneyland, which many people loved to visit today.
I enjoyed reading this book, and think the Walt Disney is amazing. People had said that he was like a magician, his work had given people the chance to see the fantasy and enchantment in their lives. I think that Walt Disney is very interesting because he was able to make the most amazing art and, had made many major motion pictures that are very popular today. Most of all he created Disneyland.
Reading this book had some very cool, interesting things that I had never even known about. I thought it was great, and I would recommend it to anyone.
