Chapter One: Home at Last
"This is.. We're home!" It had been a long trip for the Gilbert family. After going all the way around the world on their trip, they had been where they wanted to be all along. Home. Which was, to outsiders, Australia. This was where Emma Gilbert had acquired her mermaid powers, where she had friends, and best of all: where she had Cleo and Rikki.
Emma looked around and realized where she was. This was near the moon pool.
"Hey mom," started the blonde. "Can I go for a swim?"
Mrs. Gilbert looked at her child a little confused. "Honey, we just got home. The first thing you want to do is swim?" Emma looked around a bit and smiled.
"Yes, mom. It won't feel like home until I get in the water." She tried to convince her mother to let her swim and go see her friends.
Mrs. Gilbert sighed. "It has been a while since you've actually wanted to swim. Alright, I'll allow it. Only this once though." A big smile appeared on the teen's face.
"Thanks a lot!"
Emma had been swimming a while now. It was hard to get off of her mother's track so she wouldn't see Emma in mermaid form.
She flashed a smile. There it was, just like she remembered it: the moon pool.
"How long has it been since she left?" Cleo Sertori , one of the mermaids asked her friend, Rikki.
"Who are you talking about?" Bella went up to the surface to see her friends chatting. She was watching Will and Zane compete underwater.
Cleo looked at the other mermaid. "Just uh-" She was cut off by the two human boys.
"I won that one, fair and square!" Zane had a sly grin on his face. Will was about to reject, and say that he won, but they were all interrupted by a splash in the water. Everyone looked around, and all of them were surprised at what they saw.
