Angel of light and Mercy
A laugh escaped Kari's mouth before she could stop it, everyone in the group turned in shock to look at her.
Or more specifically to stare at her.
Kari tried to stop herself from laughing but that only resulted in a giggle fit.
Right now most of the team was discussing if they could trust Ken, but she wasn't really worried about that, the scene in front of her held her attention.
Yolei who was in charge of keeping Ken out of the conversation was currently distracted by an ice cream cart. Leaving her charge stuck with an apparently awkward conversation with a little girl, and apparently her stuff doll also had a say by the way Ken was talking to it every second sentence.
Kari giggled again at Ken's face and wondered for a moment if she should go and try to help him. But the more she thought about it the more it seemed like a bad idea, first of all the team would get the wrong message and second of all the little girl looked like she liked her little talk with him.
Plus Ken's face was so priceless. Kari giggled again, she was almost to the point of having another giggle fit when Cody said "See Ken's talking to himself, that can't be a good sign."
After Cody said those words it felt like a bucket of ice cold water had been dumped on Kari, stopping her giggle fit immediately.
Kari watched the group with a detached feeling, Davis looked like he wanted to defend Ken but he didn't know how. Cody looked satisfied. And the rest of the group ranged from worried to exasperated to confused.
Kari could hardly focus on what was said after that, because she was tying to figure out why she could see the little girl and not anyone else. She briefly thought of maybe the girl was tied to the dark ocean but quickly pushed that thought away. There was no way a sweet little girl like that could be from the dark ocean.
AN: Love reviews, even if you just want to tell me what you didn't like. Also my first chapter is always the shortest, so I promise they get longer.
