Someone on Tumblr requested I write a drabble with Rin and Haru's relationship from Makoto's point of view. Not sure if this is what they were after, but I had fun writing it :) Let me know what you guys think!
Leaves on a bush rustled when Nagisa nearly fell through it. The small blonde winced, got pushed himself right back into a crouched position. Makoto was right next to him, though he was having a harder time hiding because of his stature.
"Nagisa, why are we doing this"? He asked, shifting uncomfortably.
Nagisa rolled his eyes like he thought Makoto was an idiot. "Because we don't want them to see us!"
Makoto laughed awkwardly, a little annoyed. "That's not what I meant. What I meant to ask is; why are we following them?"
"Because Haru-chan is on a date! And with Rin-chan of all people!" He exclaimed, flailing his arms in exaggeration.
The brunette's gaze drifted to the couple in question, and his eyes softened. Rin was excited about something, talking animatedly and gesturing wildly, while Hauka had a look of disinterest but if you knew him well enough you'd be able to see his content smile.
Makoto hauled himself to his feet and dusted off his pants before starting to walk away. He staggered when Nagisa tugged on his arm, still on his knees. "Mako-chan! What are you doing?!"
"We should leave them alone. They look really happy right now." He stated simply before pulling the small blonde to his feet.
"But I wanna keep watching!" Nagisa whined, trying to plop down.
Makoto sighed and opened his mouth to argue but stopped when Haruka's voice drifted over to them.
"You little brat!"
Makoto quickly looked behind him to see Rin and Haru were rolling around on the grass, apparently in the middle of a wrestling match. He felt his heart sink, confused, until he heard...laughter? Listening carefully, he could heard his friends laughing like there was no tomorrow. He grinned and looked down at his companion. "How's this? You leave with me and I'll take you to get ice cream. Does that work?"
Nagisa's eyes lit up and he took off running toward the entrance of the park. "What're you waiting for, Mako-chan? Let's go!"
He laughed at the younger boy's antics and followed after him, mentally wishing Haru good luck on the rest of his date.
