And my heart is full of dread
My best friend Joey
Walks like one who is dead.

We went to Duelists Kingdom
He and I
And made new friends
Mako, Mokuba, and Mai.
We made it to the finals
And had to face each other
Yes, it was painful for me
Because you were like a brother.
But we both won in the end
And you gave Serenity her sight,
An angel who could
Once again take flight.
We traveled to Battle City
And you quickly lost your Red-Eyes
But I won it back for you.
Oh, those hunters we despise.
Malik made himself known
Through his mind-slaves
They came to duel us
Waves upon waves.
We seperated at one point
To prove ourselves, I suppose
No help would come from the other
As we fought our foes.
With my six locator cards
And a heart full of joy
I went in search
Of a stubborn, blond-hair boy.
Joey
I saw you at the pier
And gave a happy shout
But I cut it short
When you turned about.
Joey
Replacing your impish grin
Was a sinister sneer
Not yours, but Malik's
Was the voice that I would hear.
Joey
Your once bright brown eyes
Were covered by a veil
And for your freedom
I started to appeal.

Malik taunted me
Called me a fool
And said if you were to be freed
I would have to duel.
Joey
So here we are
Battling once more
Reminding me
Of the time before.

The clock is ticking
Time is running out
And if I'm to save you
I must take a different route.
