The Greatest Men Stand Alone
The greatest men stand alone
With no one by their side
They live in a lonely world
Where they always have to hide
It isn't a question of fear
But rather inability to connect
Or maybe they become great
Because there's nowhere for them their love to direct
They throw themselves to their studies
Their dreams and their beliefs
And after awhile it seems
Being alone is a relief
Maybe they never learned to care
For anyone outside their books
Maybe they never knew gentle flirting
Butterflies in their stomachs or the sharing of warm looks
So the greatest men stand alone
It isn't hard to see why
Because you either get hugs and kisses and affection
Or you get greatness and a love-less life.
