Audrey Returns
Prologue
No matter to which city you go, when you enter China Town you enter another world. A place full of secrets. This story will lead you to Count D's pet shop in China Town. Sadly, or maybe luckily, it is unknown in which city this China Town is located.
Chapter 1 – The Pet Shop
It was a bright day outside and the fresh wind that blew into Count D's pet shop was accompanied by the nervous ringing of the bells that hung over the entrance door. The young Chinese shop owner lifted his eyes from the piece of cake in front of him and looked at his customer. "Welcome to Count D's pet shop, how can I help you, Sir?"
The man looked around and smiled. "I'm new in town and I feel a little lonely, therefore I'm looking for a pet. But in fact, I don't have much experience with animals...." - "Let's see...," D replied, " usually I sell pets, but I think I have something different that will satisfy your needs. Would you please follow me to the warehouse?" The young customer was confused, but he agreed to take a look at what the Count wanted to offer him.
The steps of the two men were echoing in the dark hallway. D opened a door to his right and the Count and his customer entered the room. It was decorated with all kinds of plants and in the center was a huge flowerpot. And in this flowerpot stood a girl of about 16 years. She was sleeping and her long, red hair fell softly on her grass-green Qi-pao*.
"Audrey, wake up! There is someone who'd like to meet you," the Count said in a loud but soft voice. "But this is a girl!" the customer said and turned pale, "buying her would not only be illegal but also absolutely immoral!" - "No sir, no. This is an extremely rare lily. Trust me, it is a plant which can only be found in one place in the world. Even I don't know exactly where it is. But the shaman who sold it to me assured me that this lily is the best remedy against solitude." - "And you are sure that this IS a plant?!" - "Certainly sir, or do you see something else than a lily there?"
"But this plant is huge, how should I carry it home?" the customer asked and D offered him to have the lily delivered to his apartment. "But before I can sell it to you," the Count added, "you have so sign the following contract. It contains instructions. I can't guarantee for your or anybody else's safety when you don't follow them".
1. Water the plant regularly
2. Don't feed it
*a traditional Chinese piece of clothing for men and women
