Dobby and the Big, Giant, Very, No-Good Manor
.
Dobby's brow was sweating as he scrubbed at the wood floors, polishing it so hard til he could see his face gleaming in it. His large, watery eyes widened and he smirked as he added a bit more wax, and good old elbow grease to get the wood shining. Dobby had a mission, his only mission in life: to serve his Master and be a good house-elf, the best house-elf. Except his family, the Master and Mistress Malfoy and their son little Master Draco, didn't seem to be pleased with his work and they often complained that he wasn't doing enough.
Dobby's eyes filled with tears; he had to please the Masters, he couldn't let them down again and want to scream and yell at Dobby. Right before they left for Diagon Alley, the Mistress Narcissa had told Dobby he had to get the whole Manor sparkling and shining..and that if he didn't get it done in time, there would be hell to pay.
Dobby whimpered and hurried up away from the sparkling floors to dust the shelves and curtains next; he had to hurry, he had to hurry...If only there was more time, though he was one tiny, house-elf in a large, large Manor with so many rooms and things to do. Not even his powerful elf magic could get the entire Manor done in time. Unless...Dobby's eyes widened with hope and he wiped away a tear. Unless he had a time-turner, then he could
have enough time to clean Malfoy Manor and have it sparkling before the Master and Mistress returned.
Dobby hurried with a pop of apparition to get to Hogwarts and the kitchens there where he knew his friend Silvy the house-elf could help him.
"Silvy," he pleaded. "I need to borrow the Time-Turner headmaster Dumbley-dore has!"
Silvy, who was a very mischievous house-elf grinned and wiped his hands off the dough he was kneading to create bread for Hogwarts. "Silvy thought you'd never ask! Silvy likes to help and getting the Time-Turner is easy."
Silvy winked at Dobby before disappearing with a pop, presumably to Dumbledore's office. The house-elf returned a few seconds later with a lovely, little gold Time-Turner in his hand.
"Here you go, Dobby, use it wisely!" Silvy winked before turning back to making bread for the oven.
Dobby was overjoyed and quickly pulled the lovely Time-Turner over his neck before going back to the Manor.
"Oh, Dobby will! Dobby will use this very well!"
He had a wide, toothy smile on his face as he disappeared with a pop.
.
Question: So will Dobby change all time and destiny using that Time-Turner or will the slightly obsessive house-elf just use it to make the house very clean before the Malfoys arrive back?
