Chapter 1-The Bomb
When I reached the car I heard beeping. I frowned and checked around me and the car but found nothing. I then look under the car and saw a small box with a pulsating red light. It was beeping. When I picked it up I knew I had made the worst mistake in my life. The yellow display read 00:04. 4 seconds. It was a bomb. As the timer reached 00:01 I knew I was done for. So I just waited. I would die instantly so I wasn't afraid. But after five seconds had passed I open my eyes. I was still here holding the bomb. The display read 00:00 seconds. It should've blown up by now. I made a risky move and set it down. Was this my imagination?...No this is real. Why hasn't it blown up yet? Not wanting to stay any longer I ran away to find my mum. As I left the car park I heard a deafening explosion behind me. It was the bomb. It blew up. How was that possible? Was the thing faulty? When the police arrived I told them what happened. They said I was extremely fortunate. Fortune? They're placing this on luck? I can't believe it. That bomb didn't blow up only now because I'm lucky! Before I had time to question them my mum had pulled me away. She was in tears. She didn't say a word to me at all on the way home. When I got home I headed upstairs to do my homework. It was History. On the topic of World War One. I sat down on my bed and got to work...then someone entered my room.
