By the way, this story takes place at the beginning of summer.

(Dawn's POV)
"Oh, Ash, I can't wait for the Beginning of Summer party tonight! Why does it have to be in 3 hours?" I asked. "It'll be romantic, with the slow dancing and French food, the pool, and the ladies choice dance! I can ask Gary to dance, and we can go swimming!" I shrieked, not realizing I just revealed a big secret until I got 4 puzzled looks.
"Aw, my little girl is in love!" May teased, looking at Ash.
"She grows up so fast," he chimed in. They burst out laughing. I glared at them both. "No, I don't," I lied.
"Yes, you do," Misty said.
"No, I don't,"
"Yes, you do," I swear, Misty is usually pretty awesome, but this point, I was ready to punch that bitch in the face. When I tried doing it, Brock stood in between Misty & I.
"Woah, Dawn, don't punch Misty," Brock said. He was trying to be the peacemaker he is, but I sensed anger and worry in his voice.
"Fine, Mist. I do have a crush. Just don't tell him, okay?" I begged. Everyone promised not to.
"At the party tonight, ask Gary to dance and go swimming with him. May & I will help you." Misty said.
"Thanks," I said. Misty & May knew all too well about guys, because they had experience with them, unlike me.
"So what are the main things I have to do?" I asked.
"Dawn, Dawn, Dawn. That's cute, thinking this will be easy." May said sarcastically.

(Gary's POV)
The party was finally happening. I was going to ask out Dawn. But I thought that would be crazy, judging on what I did to her. She was calling my name for 5 minutes straight, and I yelled at her. Dawn ran away, crying. I thought she'd hate me forever.
"Gary, it's fine. We're all human, and we make mistakes. Dawn will probably forget this later." Ash assured. I stopped crying a little.
"You think so?" I asked, full of hope.
"Yes. Dawn isn't the type to hate someone for no good reason." Even with Ash's reassurance, I still thought she'd hate me. I sulked on the couch until Misty & May returned.
"Presenting Dawn Alexis, the Princess of Sinnoh!" Misty said, after May did a fake fanfare. Out came a girl I barely thought was Dawn. She had her blue hair curled, and was wearing a sunflower crown on her head. Her blue dress was floral. She was wearing red high heels and red lipstick. Her eyeshadow was gray, and the blush on her cheeks was pink.
"Dawn, you look pretty. I'm not saying you didn't look pretty before, but the dress. It just brings out the color of your eyes and hair." I gawked. She blushed.
"Gary, why are we sitting here? Let's just dance already!" she said. So I went up to her, grabbed her hand, and Brock played Perfect Two by Auburn for me and Dawn to dance to. I winked at him, mouthing, 'Thanks'.
