The Big C

The big letter C

Or rather the big old James Connolly

An Irishman who fought for workers injustice

An advocate for human rights what a sight

He left Ireland once for America

But when he got there it was just the same

So he simply after so many years came right back

To what he left behind which was exactly the same

What a pain but that didn't knock Connolly off his game

He was determined to fight for Irish worker rights

But who knew to kind of achieve that goal he'd have to pay for with his life

But James Connolly was willing to take that gamble

For Irish freedom Irish rights and Irish men, women and children young and old

Too bad it took so long for them to figure that out

As the final 1916 shots could be heard
