(My first Zoe and Max/ Zax based fic on the BBC hit medical drama Casualty. Hope you enjoy! (sorry its long) )
(Zoe and Max rekindled their passion with the trail of lighters, this fic is of the following week)
It was 9am. Zoe strolled into the ED holding her phone in her right hand and wearing the heels Robyn had once seen on the floor of Max's bedroom, with Max following her closely behind. Max caught up with her and slapped her on her bum.
"I've told you before, leave some space between our arrivals!" winked Zoe to Max.
"Yeah, yeah", smiled Max, as he turned the other way towards his 'office'.
'Beep, beep', Zoe received a page alerting her to attend her shared office with Connie were Connie was waiting to chat with Zoe.
Zoe headed for her office to see Connie sat at her desk and to her surprise Robyn and Lofty were stood opposite her and her wrath of spoken warnings.
"You two need to get you're act together", assigned Connie to Lofty and Robyn as Zoe entered the room.
"What's going on here?", Zoe enquired.
"These two have been switching shifts again, without my permission, it is totally unacceptable!" Connie declared.
"Clip, clop", Zoe walked in further to the office and stared in amazement at Lofty and Robyn as they shyly stood saying nothing with their heads to the floor.
Robyn's eyes wandered the floor and caught a glimpse of Zoe's heels. She knew she recognised them from Max's bedroom floor, but questioned her judgement. Robyn froze, stood in amazement at what she was seeing, totally astounded and shocked by her discovery. Zoe became aware that Robyn had seen her shoes.
"Robyn, a word outside please?" Zoe said defiantly but with caution and embarrassment to her voice.
They headed towards the door, where Max was passing by, "you too", Zoe said.
All three headed to the ED doors, and arrived at the normal smoking point of Zoe and Max.
Zoe started, "I know you've seen my shoes Robyn and I know you must be wondering what on earth is going on…"
"I knew it must've been someone from the ED Zoe, but you? If anyone finds out this is going to spread like a wildfire! Max, how did you even pull a doctor, you're a flipping porter!"
"He's not just a porter" Zoe snapped. "He's my porter, and I love him!" smiled Zoe, "Now Robyn keep it zipped!"
Max smiled and embraced Zoe. They shared a kiss and Robyn squirmed.
"I won't tell anyone, just leave me out of it, it will come out eventually you know? But it's your choice" Robyn walked off.
"Zoe it's all going to be okay because I love you too!" beamed Max.
"Meet me upstairs in 5" Zoe cheekily implied.
They both headed back into the ED and later that day Robyn watched as Max and Zoe snuck into their cupboard. Their romance lived on.
