Another original Thomas story, this time it's "James and the Flour" with added lines by tate310. Enjoy and comment.
It was a sunny day on the Island of Sodor, and all the engines were working hard. Gordon was pulling the Express, Henry was taking some visitors on a tour of the forest, and Edward was shunting cars.
Sir Topham Hatt came to see Thomas and James.
"Thomas, you are to go to the flour mills." he said.
"Yes sir!" said Thomas as he puffed away.
Then Sir Topham Hatt turned to James.
"You must go with him as well. I need another engine to help out with the flour!"
James puffed away as well.
At the flour mills, Thomas was surprised to see James.
"Hello James!" he said. "What are you doing here?"
Before James could answer, the manager came over to them.
"Thomas must take some flour to the bakery." he said, "and James, you will fill some flour trucks and fill them in the flour chute.
While Thomas puffed away, James's face turned ghost-white. He remembered a old story that Thomas had told him a while back about being covered in flour.
"Rubbish!" said James. "Why can't another engine do it?"
"Remember, really useful engines never argue and do as they are told!" said the manager as he walked away.
So James set to work at once.
Meanwhile, Thomas had arrived at the bakery, where workers unloaded crates of flour to be used in a cake for a big party.
The workers thanked Thomas, and he puffed back to the bakery.
James however, was fuming. He didn't like flour, and he now hated the word flour. When he arrived at the chute, loads and loads of flour poured into James's freight cars. He was beginning to feel better, until one of the workers forgot to turn off the flour, causing James to become covered in flour from footplate to fender!
Thomas soon arrived and laughed when he saw James, who was still covered in flour.
"What happened to you?" asked Thomas.
James was furious.
"This is all your fault! If Sir Topham Hatt hadn't asked me to come here, then this wouldn't have happened!"
"It's okay James!" said Thomas. "Flour is good for many things."
"Like what?"
"Like the big giant cake that I've been asked to pick up later! Want to help?"
"Okay." said James.
After James got a nice wash-down, Thomas and James picked up the cake from the bakery, and delivered it to Knapford Station.
"Good work both of you." said Sir Topham Hatt. "You are both really useful engines.
"And what a lovely cake!" said Lady Hatt.
Thomas and James sounded their whistles, and everyone clapped and cheered as loud as they could!
