I Just Came To Say Goodnight

He walked into the precinct to say goodnight to Beckett, but stood stuck to the spot as he watched her kiss Demming. He had just come to say goodnight, but it wasn't enough so he stood in the corner watching her kiss him. He had given it his all but sometimes that wasn't enough and while Castle now understood this he didn't want it to be true. Those other guys were just flings and it bothered him that they didn't love her like he knew he did, but he still wasn't the guy she was taking home. So far away, but still so near. So he stopped watching and left. Why didn't she see him? Why?

She started to tell him what a great time she had this year, but that is when Gina showed up and everything seemed to fall into place. She could give it her all, but sometimes everything wasn't good enough and she was going to have to come to terms with that. So, she watched as Rick took his ex wife to the Hamptons. Kate wasn't stupid and Gina's comment about staying on top of him bugged her. She knew Gina was only there to use him. Kate loved him. Why couldn't he see that she did? It didn't seem to matter as she watched him walk away from her and into the elevator. It wasn't like she was the one he was taking to the Hamptons.
