Sharpay held the new little puppy in her hands. The soft, brown fur curled in between her fingers. The little blue eyes looked up at her with such trust and fear at the same time. She realized what this meant. Her love for Zeke and his for her had taken a turn for the better. Their relationship was so big that it was trusted with a life. Not a baby, of course, she thought with a grin. They had only been married for a month. With him away all day in his restaurant, she was lonely. She thought how lucky she was to have such a great guy who gave her someone as a temporary replacement.
The puppy looked up at her, and then sneezed into her palm. The more she thought about it, she realized that this little puppy represented their relationship. It had it's ups, its downs, its messes, its smiles. It was full of life and personality. It was funny to her how something so big as her love for Zeke could be represented by something so small as the little puppy.
