Title: The Balance Bringer – Onwards to Westeros.
Summary: After living his life – and After Life – the soul once known as Harry James Potter accepts a position… and ends up in Westeros, as the first born son of the King Baratheon.
Disclaimer: I, of course, do not own Harry Potter or Game of Thrones. Sad, but true.
Prologue
Harry always remembered everything before that point; he always saw the entirety of his first life, his two deaths, being in the Afterlife, and then, once again, awaking, un-pained and content, in that limbo type place, which existed neither here nor there, and being courted by Death, Life and Balance.
It had been a strange conversation, he always knew, one that was often near forgotten and blurred with time in his memories, but the base facts of the dialogue where always there, circling his brain, the second he opened his new eyes and saw the new world he was in. He always saw why exactly he had been asked what he had, why he had agreed to it, and, more importantly, why people in certain places – in certain universes – needed him and his special type of help.
Balance, he had been told all that time ago, was needed; good and evil, light and dark, life and death. You could never have one without the other, and they forever needed to be kept in balance, always perfectly in sync…
And that was his job ("if he wanted it," Death had said, all those years ago) to keep it so, for other worlds, just as he had done for his own.
His body would live and die, like any other mortals, but his memories of what he needed would always remain. His soul would always remember, just as his heart always would, though he would never tire from it.
Harry had known, of course, that it wouldn't have been selfish to say no, to deny the request and return to his current existence, surrounded by the loved ones that hadn't yet gone on to be re-born… but – well, he had agreed to it. After what had felt like an Age, he had finally decided – like many others of his family and friends –that he was quite ready for his Next Big Adventure, wherever it brought him.
And, in some cases, he soon realised after agreeing, perhaps as who it brought him.
