Lightning was a bit older than most vehicles who used social media. But he was smart enough to recognize its usefulness. After all, Fillmore was right about how futile it was to resist change. A few days after his crash Lightning woke up and the first things that came to his mind besides his friends were his fans. He knew he had to tell them that he was alright. When Guido came to check up on him, Lightning, covered in blue undercoating at the time, took that opportunity. "Ciao, boss.", Guido greeted him. "Ciao, Guido. I'm doing really fine right now." Guido nodded. Then Lightning asked Guido, "Would you please get the video camera from Sally's office?" Guido nodded. "Sì, boss!" He immediately drove out of Lightning's room and down the street to the motel. He entered the office and drove up to Sally's desk. Sally took notice of him. "Hey, Guido! Is my little Stickers okay?" Guido nodded and asked her, "Dove è la videocamera?" Sally gave him a puzzled look, wondering why he needed the camera. Shaking it off, she opened a drawer revealing the camera in question. Guido grabbed it and headed out. "Grazie, Signora." "You're welcome, Guido.", Sally said before getting back to her work.
Guido got back to Lightning's place and turned on the camera as soon as he was inside. He pointed the lens at the racer and pressed the record button. Lightning began the message in an uplifting tone. "To all my fans out there. I am doing okay after that horrible crash. Definitely the biggest of my career. But I'm not gonna let something like that get in the way of doing what I love. However I'm gonna take some time off to hone my skills so that when I get back in the game I'll be much better. That's pretty much all I have to say, guys. Also, keep it cool and keep it classy. Ka-chow!" Guido pressed the record button to stop recording. "Thanks, Guido.", Lightning said. "Now go give it back to Sally. Guido nodded and rushed back to the motel. He put the camera on Sally's desk before going back out to the tire shop where he rejoined Luigi to conduct tire sales. Sally looked at the camera.
Curious, she pressed the button with her tire to play the recording her Stickers had made. Ka-chow!" When it was done playing, a smile crept onto her lips. No matter how much stress he had, he always managed to power through it, and the recording definitely showed that. Sally opened her computer and connected the camera to it with a cable. She imported the video file and did some editing before posting it on Fuelbook and Flewtube. Unsurprisingly it started to rack up lots of hits from Lightning's fans who gave lots of positive feedback and were happy that he was still his good ol' stubborn self.
