Prowl walked into the security room, frowning slightly. "Red Alert, I just found something out."
Red Alert turned, a slightly quizzical look on his face. It wasn't like Prowl to actually come to the security room. "I figured that you don't want it spread to the rest of the army but-"
Prowl handed him a datapad, which Red Alert took, scanning quickly. When he was done, he looked back up at Prowl. "Why, how?"
Prowl shrugged. "I'm not sure."
Red Alert sighed. "I'll start working on it."

Inferno entered the room, looking for Red Alert. He saw Red Alert scribbling away at several datapads as fast as the mech could go. "Watchya doing Red?" He asked curiously.
Red Alert jumped slightly, shoving the datapad out of sight. "Nothing."
Inferno scowled. It was obviously something. "Aww, c'mon Red. It's gotta be something."
"Nothing that you need to know about. Now do you need something Inferno? It's almost time for you to be going on your patrol."
Inferno decided to drop it, seeming how his mate did not have the look of someone about to tell.

Red Alert kept the datapad close by, and could often be found scribbling away. The entire Ark slowly grew more and more interested in what he was doing, and a betting pool was set up to the contents of the datapad.
Red Alert knew about it, and kept the datapad carefully hidden away, not telling anyone what was on it. The plots to find out became more and more convoluted as more and more mechs became curious. At one point even Prime asked what was on the pad.
Red Alert ignored them all.

It was Bumblebee who eventually found out. Red Alert had been fixing a camera when Bumblebee, believing the datapad to be his picked it up and scanned it. He choked. "Red Alert? You-"
Red Alert turned fast, snatching the datapad out of Bumblebee's hands. "No. It was a mistake in the programming. Don't tell anyone."
"But, it says you never enlisted in the army!" Bumblebee said, feeling off kilter. "That's one big mess up."
Red Alert nodded, scowling. Sideswipe and Sunstreaker around the corner exchanged stunned glances.

The betting pool was dissolved, and everyone lost. Not even Jazz had gotten anywhere close. A few weeks later Red Alert handed in the datapad with all of the data that had been lost in the system.
Prowl took it, remarking dryly, "Looks like it got out anyway."
Red Alert shook his head, grumbling. He had been teased repeatedly by Inferno about not actually being an Autobot. It had finally stopped when Red Alert had slammed and locked the door in his face for a day.

Haha, Inferno got locked out. :)
