Tag to the second episode. Spoilers! If you haven't seen it. I haven't written anything in a really long time. I figured a short one-shot could get me back into writing. Sorry if it is not great.

Their second mission had been tough. More so than their first one. Wyatt kept going over it in his head. When they got back to Mason Industries, everyone said they had done a good job. That the mission had been a success: History had not been changed, at least not significantly. But those people saying the mission had been a success, they had not been there, in 1865. They had not been in the position to stop the assassination of president Lincoln. If they had, they would not be so quick to call it all a success. After all, how could it have been a success when they had let one of the greatest presidents of history be assassinated?

He did not envy Lucy and the choice she had had to make. She had watched Lincoln get shot, right in front of her, knowing that she could have prevented it, but that doing so would have changed the past and the future in ways they could not predict. He had seen the fear in her eyes on their way back after the mission. Their first mission had wiped her sister out of existence. She must have been terrified to think what might have changed after this second mission.

He saw her in the hall after they had both changed back into modern clothes, and noticed she still had that look in her eyes, as if she was lost.

"Hey Lucy" he called out. She turned around, surprised to see him. Clearly she had been lost in thought. "You okay?" he asked. She nodded, but it was not very convincing. Then she turned to continue on her way. He almost did the same, intending to head home, and enjoy a good whiskey. But then he changed his mind, figuring Lucy could probably use a drink as much as he did.

"Hey" he called out again. She turned around hesitantly. "Do you… want to go get a drink?" he asked after a moment of hesitation.

"I'm engaged" she blurted out, almost before he finished his question. He suddenly got a flashback to whiney chicks shouting out "I have a boyfriend" whenever a guy is nice to them. He did not have Lucy pinned as that kind of girl. His eyebrows went up and he sighed.

"Okay… You know, I just figured we could both use a -"

"Wyatt!" she interrupted him "I'm engaged" she said again, giving him a meaningful look. He suddenly realised he had misunderstood her reaction. Something was wrong. "I wasn't engaged before" she finally whispered. His eyes went wide, he finally got it. Apparently their trip to the Hindenburg had changed her life more than he'd realised. "I don't even know who he is" she said, shaking her head, and in her eyes he saw again the fear and that lost look.

"I guess you can use that drink after all" he finally said. "Hell yeah" she nodded.
