Kusajishi Yachiru

Pink is a colour of many hundreds facets: Palest Pink for a newborn baby girl; Fuchsia for the adventurous toddler and Bubblegum Pink for a precocious prepubescent girl.

And as for the future: Deep Pink for love and temptation for what she as a lover, and Prussian rose for a woman who is confident in herself and her action. And still older, she will not be grey but Misty Rose, soft but still Pink for long levity and all encompassing love.

And as love is the colour Pink; so is Yachiru. She loves her Ken-chan, her saviour and her protector; the closet thing to a father she'll ever have and ever really wants.

And she loves her Yumi-chan; who teachers her and makes her pretty and helps her when she's sad. And Pachinko-head, whose head she loves to chew on and who protects her when Ken-chan can't. Yachiru is Pink and Pink is Yachiru. She couldn't be any other colour because no other colour could be so energetic and happy and completely oblivious to the rest of the world. And Pink is. It makes you look at it, waves itself in your face and it doesn't change. Not for anyone but itself. It's the colour of stubbornness and dislike of change.

And Yachiru hates change, hates the difference between what is and what was. She hates rules and regulations because she doesn't like to live her life in a boundary. And really, Pink is the same. Pink is a colour that spreads far and wide and up to the heavens and into the earth if it pleases. You can't confine it because sooner or later it will break through. It will break out. And you can't stop it, ever.

It's a force that is unstoppable, out of control. It makes its own name and it's own way. It'll go where it will and it'll stay where it pleases. It listens to no-one except itself yet it compliments so many colours. It will go with Kenpachi's black to produce radical and unusual shapes, it will go with Yumi's vivid yellow to make beautiful but entrancing colours and it will go with Ikkaku's bright orange to make disturbingly attractive images that you remember for ever. It will blend and mix to make itself fit if it pleases but it cannot be forced. It cannot be played with. It does not like that. It must be treated right.

Pink is loud and it demands you pay it attention now and so does Yachiru. It says 'look at me!' and so does Yachiru. She doesn't care. She is Pink and Pink she will stay.

Pink makes no apologies and neither does Yachiru.
