Yagami Raito was perfect.

He was gorgeous, obtained perfect grades in school, and had every girl(and a few guys) attention. The young man was a genius, his parents' pride, and the perfect older brother. He was polite(unless he was angry), and offered kind words where they were due. Even his short temper couldn't ruin his flawless image.

And L wanted him.

L sat in the bed that the two of them shared due to the chain and stared at the angelic male as he slept, something that would have definitely unnerved the young man if he were awake if not anger him as well. But L knew that Raito would not rise until 6 o'clock, and it was only 4:13. He had another hour and forty-five minutes to observe his obsession.

But, gods, how he wished he could do more.

L thought back to the first time he had watched Yagami Raito in person, two seats behind said boy(for that's what he had been then) in an exam that he, himself, had passed effortlessly. Raito had seemed relatively calm compared to the other students around him and appeared to give off an almost arrogant air of confidence. And why shouldn't he, L thought, when he had been first in the national practice exams? However, this arrogance merely raised his suspicions that this soon-to-be college student was indeed the ever-elusive mastermind and serial killer, Kira.

This percentage had actually been a lot higher than he had admitted in those days. But why tell Raito that? If the young man had known just how much he was truly suspected, then he would have hidden the clues far better then he originally had. L had no doubt that that Raito had been the first Kira. But this Raito...

This Raito, the one lying before him eagerly trying to soak up as much sleep as possible in the short time that L gave him, this hauntingly beautiful creature that had somehow managed to worm his way into all of L's thoughts until, eventually, he had found his heart-

This Raito was pure. Untainted. And L loved him for it. No trace of Kira had been left behind, and L was grateful for it. It had hidden this lovely being from him for far too long. L hoped he never had to deal with that damned thing ever again. Let it possess some other lesser being and leave Raito as his for all of eternity.

L snorted. Eternity? There was no such thing. But, at the least, he wanted Raito until death. After all, there was nothing beyond that. No eternity, or bull about Heaven, could ever change that.

L got unto his knees and moved closer to his angel as he thought about when he had fallen in love with Yagami Raito. It had been during his containment, the moment that L noticed that his suspect was...different. Those eyes had captivated him as they suddenly gained an untouched innocence that L had never seen before. The reaction it had had on his body had made L feel quite uncomfortable, especially with the rest of the investigation team there.

L shifted and began straddling Raito's hips, placing his hands around the other male's wrists and smirked as he thought that Raito would have to deal with waking up a little earlier than normal.

Lawliet just couldn't observe any longer.
