"Hey, I'm taking you out tonight" Peter said, as Carla walked into the room.

"Ooh, where to?" she said, giving him a cheeky grin.

"That's for me to know and for you to find out…" Peter replied, kissing her.

An hour later, they were heading towards the posh restaurant that Peter had a table booked at. Peter was driving and they were winding each other up.

"This will make a change from your dodgy cooking" he joked.

"Oi. Yours is none better" Carla said, slapping his knee.

"Car?"

"Yeah?"

"You know how much I love you?"

"Aw, and I love…" Carla said. She didn't get to finish her sentence because then another car slammed into the side of them.

Peter was unconscious, with blood pouring out of his head. Carla was still conscious.

"You too." She finished her sentence.

She turned to Peter and cupped her hands on his cheek. It was then she saw the blood and the tears started pouring down her face.

"Please don't go baby. Please don't leave me" she whispered to him.

It was then she realised she had to call an ambulance. The ambulance came as quick as they could and till they came Carla held Peter in her arms and cried.

The paramedic's had arrived.

"Carla? I'm afraid you're going to have to move out of the car" one of them said.

"No. I'm not leaving him." Carla said.

"Carla, the sooner you get out the sooner we get Peter to the hospital." The friendly paramedic said and Carla eventually got out of the car and stood at the side of the road waiting on news on Peter.

She ran over to him as soon as they had managed to get him out of the car.

"Peter, please baby." She said, tears streaming down her face.

Peter was lying on the road, lifeless. Carla looked up at the paramedic with pleading eyes.

"No, please no." she whispered.

"I'm so sorry." The paramedic said.

Carla let out a loud scream and started shaking. The paramedic gently leaned down and hugged her. She totally broke down at the news. Peter would never kiss her again. He would never hold her again and he'd never tell her how much he loved her again. He was gone and was never coming back.

It was only a few days after when Carla realised how much Peter did love her when she went to collect his clothes. It was only when she searched through them that she found the ring. The ring Peter was going to ask her to marry him with the night he died.
