Chapter One.
Drisaniia Conad worked in the field. She brushed the sweat from here forehead. Even though it was well into the cool season of Froz the sun still made things quite hot. But she was used to it. She had grown up on Froz. Actually she had grown up on this land, working these fields for as long as she could remember.
Looking out over the field Drisaniia sighed. I guess I'll have to send Kand and Nicyan out. She then stood from her stooping position and began walking to the house. She was careful not to tear her homemade dress. Like almost everything else the people of Froz made their cloths at home. They lived a simple but happy life.
As Drisaniia neared the front yard she heard a giggle. Suddenly a small blur leaped into her arms.
"Mommy" 4 year-old Nicyan said. She was a small girl. And Drisaniia and Kand were the only people she responed to.She had become ill when she was only 2 and since then she had pulled away from almost everyone. The doctors had said it was a form of autism. They were hoping that she would eventually come out of it.
"Hi baby Where is your brother" Drisaniia asked her daughter slowly.
"Around back".
Drisaniia knew she wasn't going to get a better answer. "Well go wash up for lunch" Drisaniia said. She knew her husband and step-son Kand wouldn't be in until dusk.
Well at least I can get our guests room ready. She thought. She then carried Nicyan inside.
