L sat on his small but cosy bed that was covered with a cotton black duvet cover and white pillows. He looked out of the window that the bed was up against and watched as the snow fell.
He was more depressed then usual today. Today was his birthday and it seemed that Watari had forgotten all about it. He never normally forgot such things knowing that they were very important to L who rarely celebrated anything.
The thing he liked most about his birthday was that it always snowed no matter what. He liked the snow with how pure and white it was.
He lay down on the bed curling up and closed his eyes deciding he might as well take a nap if he was not going to be baking cookies and such like they had done previous years.
A few hours later when L woke he sat up to see Watari sitting in a armchair watching him sleep with a caring smile. "You decided to take a nap. I'm glad L you need to do this more often" he said.
L just glared at Watari who frowned. "What is it my boy?" he asked.
L huffed and stood walking over he peered at Watari.
"You've forgotten" he said the sadness now showing in his eyes.
"Oh and what is it that I have forgotten?" he asked a smile tugging on his lips knowing what L meant and he had not forgotten but had a surprise waiting downstairs for him.
"My birthday" he said and turned stalked back to his bed and sat back by the window.
Watari sighed and got up walking over he picked l up who started to protest at this and tried to get free but had no hope when it came to Watari.
Watari carried L downstairs and placed him before the living room door "get in there" he said and gave L's back a little pat encouraging him.
L frowned and pushed the door open and stepped into the room turning the light on.
He stared at what he saw shocked. There were all his friends, Light, Misa, Near and Mello but what made his heart skip was the person standing in the middle of them.
That person was L's none biological twin BB. He let out a shaky breath and rushed over to BB jumping into his arms and held tightly to him crying into his shoulder.
L and BB were a couple and had been for sometime but BB had recently been away receiving therapy for his breakdown.
L hadn't seen him in months and that had made him really sad. To see him now on his birthday of all days was the best thing ever.
BB smiled and kissed his cheek "It's ok darling I'm back and I'm well now." He said softly.
L sniffed nodding and wiped his eyes still in BB's arms he looked to the others and smiled.
Thank you guys this is the best birthday ever. I thought everyone had forgotten" he said and looked up at Watari who gave him that special smile and patted him on the shoulder.
"Lets have birthday cake then" Watari said and bout in and chocolate and strawberry cake. It was chocolate sponge with strawberry wiped cream in the middle, chocolate icing and strawberries on top.
They all sang happy birthday to him BB never letting go of L and then L blew them out.
He was asked what his wish was and replied, "I don't need to make a wish, its already come true." He said smiling looking round at everyone who were like as family to him.
