Aurriaun sat with her best friend, Rina, near the burning fireplace at Rina's small, cozy house.
They were painting their long nails with a deep, shiny, purple color.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Aurriaun said casually.
"You know exactly what I'm talking about. I don't want to fight with
you or anything but why did you do that!" Rina's voice started to rise.
"Rina, calm down, I was just doing what's best for you."
"So the best for me is you kissing my boyfriend?"
"Roland isn't even into you!"
"And how would you know?"
"Because he tells me these things."
"But-"
"There is no but, Rina. This is how it is! Deal with it. I'm done with
my nails and I should probably get home now." Aurriaun started getting
up.
"Aurriaun-
"I'm sorry." right then Aurriaun's foot got caught in the small rug
and she tumbled backwards landing right into the blazing fire. She
thought she heard Rina scream but she didn't care. She knew it was
over for her so she closed her eyes, thinking of nothing else but her
mistakes and friendship with Rina. Then she realized she was still
thinking, still breathing, still hearing Rina scream her name at the
top of her lungs. She slowly opened her eyes, realizing she wasn't
even feeling any pain.
"Aurriaun?" she heard Rina gasp.
"What happened?" Aurriaun was more surprised than she had ever felt
before.
