Disclaimer: I do not own Hunger Games or Glimmer or Cato or the Training Center or training in general or the elevator or bows and arrows (not in the story or my own in real life. That's dangerous) or anything else that you might be thinking you're gonna sue me for now (I don't mean to look like I mistrust everybody, I just want to make it clear).
So here's my Cato/Glimmer story! Though I did say in my last one that that was gonna be my last one because I love Clove more, I was wrong. I do love Clove way more, but there were requests for more Glimmer/Cato and my sister of course wanted me to write it too. I don't know why she doesn't write her own, she's only ever published three stories...
She hasn't read this, so you're the first readers (the sad thing is is that this will be up in three years still and people will still think they're the first readers) except for maybe XOXOFutureFame because I sent this story to them in bed last night over PM because they were the first to request that (there was only one other request, but it was by anon so I couldn't thank you or PM you...
Anyway, here's the story!
Glimmer put back the bow and arrows, ran her fingers through her shimmery gold hair, and hurried into the elevator with everybody else. It was uncomfortably crowded, but she was floor 1, so she was the first to get out.
"Hey," a voice said behind her as she stepped into her bedroom. It wasn't Marvel's or any of her designers to her mentor or even a government person.
"Hey," she said slowly, turning around. She relaxed when she saw Cato. "Oh, hey, Cato."
He grinned. "Yep. You want to go outside before dinner? Apparently us careers are allowed to."
She brightened. "Really? Yes, of course!"
He nodded. "Thought so. Let's go," he slid his arm around her and pulled her along with him out the door and down the now empty elevator to the lobby on "Floor 0" and out the door to the plaza.
"The Capitol is really pretty," Glimmer said breathlessly, looking up at the huge glass buildings. Even with the force fields stopping them from going past the plaza, she could see the beauty of the city.
"Yeah, it is," Cato agreed. "Almost as pretty as you, but not quite."
Glimmer blushed, but giggled too. "Thanks. You're-um-"
"I'm a really dashing guy," Cato said. "Awesomely handsome."
Glimmer giggled harder. "Well-"
"Yes?" Cato pretended to be offended. "I'm extremely handsome!"
Glimmer rolled her eyes and smiled. "Of course you are," she said, winking. He laughed and she winked again. "Just dashing."
"Now you're getting it," Cato said. "You're pretty and I'm dashingly handsome. Cool, huh?"
Glimmer laughed hard and threw herself into his arms. "Yeah. Cool."
"Great," Cato winked this time. "Because it totally is."
Before she could laugh, he was kissing her.
Did you like it? I hope so. Of course I do. You know I do. Because I always say so, every time. If you're a new reader and you continue to read my stories, you'll get used to this pattern too. It's very routine.
So don't forget I love Clove/Cato way more, this was written purely for you! I'd say this is my last Glimmer/Cato story now, but come on, nobody likes a liar, and in a few days I'm sure that's what I'll be when my Clove-hating-Glimmer-loving sister steps in. So just remember I don't love this ship. And await for my next one. It might be a while, but it'll happen. Don't worry.
Linley :)
