Link was so upset over Zelda saying they were 'just friends'. He just stayed in his room for a couple of days. He only left to go to the bathroom and to go get food.

One day, someone knocked at the door. "Link?" said a familiar voice. "Are you in there?" Link opened the door to find Zelda standing there. She looked upset. "Where have you been?"

He just looked at her and sighed. "I've been here," he said softly.

"Why?"

"I don't want to say," Link said. He walked over to his bed and sat down. Zelda sat down next to him.

"I know you would feel better if you talked about it," Zelda said.

Link looked at her. Just the thought of her knowing that he was going to ask her, made him want to cry all over again. He walked over to his dresser and grabbed the ring he was going to give to Zelda a couple of months ago. "I was going to ask you to marry me…but I guess I'm just a friend," he said.

Link ran out of the room so fast that Zelda didn't get a chance to say anything. She just sat there, looking at the ring.

Link decided to walk around town for awhile. Hoping it would get his mind off what had just happened. He helped out around town with as many people as possible. For some reason though, he couldn't stop thinking about it. He saw Zelda walking around the streets. He knew she was looking for him. Link ran back to his dorm and looked the door. "I never want to see her again," He whispered to himself.

Zelda looked around town as much as she could. She couldn't find Link anywhere. She was holding the ring the entire time she was looking. I guess this was a joke she thought to herself. She went back to her dorm and locked herself in her room. "Link," She said on the verge of tears. "I would have said yes if you asked." She clutched the ring as tight as she could.

She didn't know that Link never wanted to see her again. They were both heart broken to the point where they were scared to see each other. Ever since then, they haven't spoken a word to each other.
