Hello peoples! Sorry I've been MIA, I've been dealing with writer's block :P Anywhos, I do not ow Death Note, only Grey
Grey grinned as she walked into the empty headquarters, her short black hair swishing behind her as she sat herself on a couch next to L,
"Happy Halloween!" she smiled brightly, handing the raven haired detective a strawberry lollipop. He stared blankly at her as he took the sweet,
"Thank you Miss Grey." She pouted,
"Come on Ryuzaki, it's the candy holiday! I thought you'd love Halloween!" He stood up abruptly,
"I'm sorry Miss Grey, but I must be getting back to work." With that, he walked to his room. Grey frowned as Watari came in with a tray of sweets,
"Hey Mister Watari," Grey called him over, patting the spot next to her. He smiled and gratefully took the seat, setting the tray on the table.
"Yes Miss Grey?" She frowned slightly,
"Is L okay?" she asked. His own face got a small frown,
"Well yes."
"Then why does he seem extra irritable today?" she asked innocently. He smiled slightly at her concern,
"Today is L's birthday." Her eyes widened,
"Really! Wait... why would that make him so upset?" Watari smiled and stood up, not answering as he walked to where L was. Grey sat there before an idea popped into her head. Brightening up, she bolted out the door.
Upon hearing a soft knock at his door, L turned in his chair,
"Come in." The door opened a crack as a converse-clad foot pushed it open, before opening wider and revealing Grey with a large silver platter in her hands. Now curious, the detective stood up and walked over with her as she set the dish on his unused bed. Turning to him, she grinned widely, holding up a blindfold,
"Could I put this on you for a minute?" she asked. He sighed quietly and crouched lower so that he was about her height. Soon his eyesight was gone as he heard the sound a match strike and more rustling of clothing before the blindfold was gone, revealing a cake full of strawberries and the words 'Happy Birthday' written in frosting and some candles. Grey smiled nervously at him, "Surprise?" He stared at her in silent surprise, his dark eyes wide as she continued, "Um... Watari told me that it was your birthday so~" For once, he let out a small smile, immediatley making her sag in relief,
"Thank you Grey." She grinned and motioned to the cake,
"Well, go on, make a wish!" Shaking his head in amusement at her childishness, he complied and blew out the candles. Her smile grew as she vut him a large piece of cake, grabbing a fork and handing it to him. Taking the plate from her, they began eating silently, L glancing over every so often at the girl. Grey finally spoke up, "Hey Ryuzaki, why did you get all weird when I mentioned Halloween?" L's face seemed to get almost a pout,
"Because it means we have been on this case for about four months, and I was hoping to be done by now." He looked up when Grey's laughter filled the air, watching as she set the plate down,
"I'm sorry L," her laughs died down to small giggles, "it's just... cute, that you're so upset over this." L tilted his head a bit,
"It's... cute?" he asked. Grey nodded,
"Mmm hmm," she stood up, walking over and kissing his cheek, "Very cute... Happy Birthday L."

L: *sighs* I guess you don't care about me...
