Now that Donna and Kitty where on the same page about Donna and Eric's relationship, Donna felt comfortable taking all of Eric's things that she had in her room back over to his house. So Donna packed everything up in a box and took it over to the Forman's house. When she walked up to the sliding glass door, she noticed Kitty Forman baking cookies, as per usual. She stood there for a few seconds before walking in, a little nervous as to how Kitty might react. When Kitty heard the door open, she turned her attention from the cookies on the cookie tray and looked up.

"Hi, Donna," she said as she continued moving the cookies from the tray to the rack. She immediately looked back up at the box in Donna's hands. She hadn't even thought about all the things that Eric had left over at the Pinciotti's house. She then looked into Donna's eyes and noticed the pain in her eyes. "What's the matter, sweetie?" she asked. She had a good feeling about where this conversation would go, but her maternal instinct was too strong to even consider not asking.

"I don't know," Donna said, trying to find the right words. "It just feels so official," she said as she rested the box on the counter in front of the door. Kitty stopped what she was doing, hearing the hurt in Donna's voice. Donna noticed the look on Kitty's face and she knew what the older woman was thinking. Kitty couldn't even imagine the heartbreak Donna was feeling. She could understand it from a mother's perspective because Eric had done the same thing to the both of them, but she couldn't even begin to understand it from a girlfriend's perspective. "It's not like I never loved him, though. Because I did, so much," she added quickly.

"Sweetheart," Kitty said as she wiped her hands on her apron. She opened her arms as she walked over to the younger woman and pulled her into a tight, loving hug. Donna hugged Kitty back and her emotions started to spill over for the first time since Eric broke up with her. She had cried herself to sleep that night, but she knew it was coming so that was the only time she let herself get caught up in all of the emotion. But now that she was spilling her heart out to the mother of her ex-boyfriend and to the woman she considered her second mother, it was all coming back. "You're a wonderful woman who deserves the best. Eric was a dumb ass for letting you go," Kitty added as she pulled away from Donna and wiped the tears from her eyes. Donna was like a daughter to her and seeing her in this much pain, especially at the hands of her son, hurt. Donna laughed through her tears as she also wiped them away.

"Thanks, Mrs. Forman," she said as she gave the petite maternal figure standing in front of her a watery smile. "He really does take you for granted," she added, referring back to when Eric forgot her birthday. Kitty also laughed and moved a stand of hair out of Donna's face.

"You want a cookie?" Kitty asked, quickly changing the subject. Donna nodded her head and Kitty handed her a cookie, taking one herself. The two of them ate in silence before Donna excused herself and went downstairs, leaving Kitty to continue moving all the cookies from the cookie tray to the rack.
