This is a short Attack on Titan fan fiction was that was written by my friend Cristina and not me. Enjoy.

She looks like she is asleep, lying on the wooden table. There is hardly any indication that she had been killed by a Titan. Mostly every body he had seen was mutilated, and that's if they were lucky enough to recover a body instead of severed parts.

He approaches the table slowly, still not able to comprehend that she is dead. Once he reaches her, he tilts his head down with painful expression on his face. He can still recall the moment he found out what had happened. He felt like he was going to collapse on the ground, like his legs had gone numb and couldn't support his weight anymore.

Eren's fingers brush gently over the slight bruising on Mikasa's cheek. He finds her body to be cold and stiff, something that she never was. His tears drip onto the dried blood on her forehead, and he swallows his anguish for the hundredth time, trying not to let his emotions spill over; something that Mikasa used to scold him about.

The memory brings a swell of tears to his eyes. He quickly shuts the memory out of his mind to keep from sobbing uncontrollably. He puts his hand on hers, expecting her to wake up once she felt his warmth; and when she wakes up, he would pull her into an embrace, but deep down inside, he knows that is wishful thinking. Life has been too cruel to him to ever grant him this one desire.

He took her for granted. He always thought she would be right by his side to protect him. She had shown him kindness in every way possible, and what did he show her in return? Anger and annoyance.

All these recollections make him unable to contain his grief anymore. He stares down at her face and wraps his hand around her neck.

"I loved you. I loved you! I couldn't say it!" he cries. "You were all I had left. It was you that kept me alive! I thought we would win this war together. I thought we would be together and travel outside the walls," He says between sobs. "And then I thought we would find happiness. There's never happiness. I loved you. I loved you! I couldn't say it!" He screams out.

Eren buries his face into her red scarf, wetting it with his tears. "I should've said it," he whispers. "I should've said it."
