Hello! I'm Ariel - fairyaniston on Instagram, this is my first one-shot published on this site and it took me so long to get this up so I really hope you like it. Constructive criticism are always welcomed, but please keep the comment section hate-free. Enjoy!
"Uncle Joey, could you tell me a story?" Little Erica asked, lying comfortably under her pink covers with her brother Jack on the other bed.
Jack cheered delightedly, bedtime stories always made them smile, especially Dada's.
"Now? ..I don't know kids, I'm not really good with stories and stuff." Joey said, exhausted from taking care of the kids while their parents were having their anniversary dinner.
"Come on! Stories! Please?" Jack pleaded as he tucked on Joey sleeve, making Joey's heart melt a little. "I like the ones about love," Erica mentioned, and that's when it hit Joey.
Love. Who else knew love better than Chandler and Monica?
"Alright,"
"So once upon a time, there were two people named Monica and Chandler," Joey started off.
"That's Mama and Papa!" Erica shouted excitedly with a giant grin on her face. "Yes, yes. They didn't start off very well, but they became friends. Very close friends. And that was one of the most important things they both shared. You know, always being there for each other, and Chandler would always make jokes to make your mommy feel better,"
"Not flowers or expensive jewelry, but it was the little things your dad did that gave him a very special place in your mum's heart. Everybody around them knew that no matter what, they were both number ones at each other's list and they never had to say it out loud. They were each other's.. What do you call that? Anchors! Yes, anchors. They never had to feel like they were drowning in their own sadness because the other would always pick them up."
Cutting it short, Joey realized that the love story of his best friends never ended.
"I could go on and on, but it's just.. You know, when you look at Mommy and Daddy? You see how they look at each other, and it's something special. And it just, it fits. - Like two puzzle pieces completing each other." Joey finishes, noticing that Erica and Jack were already asleep, and he smiles to himself.
"Hey! They're asleep already! That's the first time you've succeeded, Joey!" Monica and Chandler walked in, grinning from ear to ear and kissed their children's foreheads.
"Yeah, how did you do that, man?"
"Um..I just, I told them a story." Chandler's eyes widened, feeling impressed by Uncle Joe's magic.
"Was it a happy story?"
"It's the best."
