Raven, My Raven
By Ozzy Anmudis
"What a good morning!" I said as I woke
It was if nothing could make my spirit broke.
Enlightened, I walked to your room, looking for you there
But what I found, what I found would make my heart tear.
Raven, my Raven, I called your name
But there was no answer all the same.
There you lay, upon the bed, with not a single breath,
Raven, my Raven, I fear you have met your untimely death.
No amount of tears could express my grief
As I slip further and further into disbelief.
Raven, my Raven, who has done this?
Alone in my room I ponder, yet my heart is still amiss.
I loved you, my Raven, with all my heart and more
For much too long, it was you I adored
Raven, my Raven, what did you do?
It was then, I realized it was not someone else, rather, you.
So here I am now, flowers in hand
In front of your grave I stand.
Upon the epitaph I look,
Reading it, it says, "Raven- her death shook
Her dearest friends, never shall we forget
This true hero, for heaven she has met."
Raven, my Raven, my love for you I never will release.
But for now, my Raven, rest in peace.
