"Booth," she said quietly.
He looked up from the floor of the lab, where he was staring intently while he waited for her.
"Hey, Bones," he replied.
"We finished the case."
"Yup."
"We caught the murderer."
"Yup."
She took a deep breath. "I'd say 'Let's go to the diner', but it's different now. Different between us."
"How so, Bones?" he asked, cocking his head.
"Something happened to the way I see you. It's like my opinions have been altered because of events that transpired during this case. Is that confusing?"
He shrugged, but he didn't look at all confused. In fact, he looked rather smug. "Use your heart, not your brain, Bones," he suggested.
She opened her mouth as if to speak, closed it again, then took a few steps forward and kissed him on the lips. He seemed startled at first, but after a moment he closed his eyes and kissed her back, putting his hands on her hips.
They broke apart after another moment and looked each other in the eye.
"That was interesting," he commented.
"You told me to use my heart. I didn't want to have to say anything, I didn't want to have to explain-"
He put a finger to her lips. "That's enough, Bones." And he kissed her again. When they broke apart, he asked, "So, are we allowed to have sex now?"
"Depends. Are you any good?" she grinned and replied as they walked together towards the door.
"Me? I'm great. But the question is, are you any good?"
"Of course I'm good! I've had several partners who've come back to me for more, and-"
"Okay, Bones. I get it. You're good. But pardon me if I'd like you to prove it to me."
"Oh, I'd be more than happy to do so."
"I bet you would."
"Is that a problem?"
"No. No, not at all, Bones."
