It was hard to believe it. He couldn't be dead. The boy she'd been in love with couldn't possibly be gone. He was just a baby. Sadly, it was true. She heaved a sad sigh and looked at the grave she sat in front of. He had been only 17. Too young. she thought. Too young. Never before had she thought this could happen. She thought he could live forever. A tear fell down her cheek. Oh God, how could this happen. It was supposed to be game. Just a game. It happened on the Quidditch field. A place where there had been so many happy memories. A place where goals had been scored and snitches had been caught. But all the memories were darkened now. It had been a bright, sunny day. The game was almost over. But she heard a scream. A terrifying scream that rang through the hills and Forest. "He's dead!".
He death had been so sudden. He was so close to graduating. So close to being a great wizard. But it had all ended there. On that field. She started to sob. So many times she had thought about suicide, so that she could be with her love. But she remembered the pain that it caused when he died. And she didn't want anyone to have anymore pain. He had been loved and admired. He was so brave. So brave. He was handsome and popular. A year had passed since it had happened. It was funny. It seemed like just a second ago she was hearing the screams. The last time she'd seen his beautiful face was at the funeral. It was pale and sad. But still beautiful. She remembered leaning down to kiss him. A sort of last goodbye. She sighed again and wiped her eyes. She stood up and started to walk away. But Cho Chang looked one last time at the grave. 'Cedric Diggory 1980-1997'. "I loved Cedric. I really did."
