So, I am not particularly happy with the way this story is turning out. I will be re-writing it! Most of it will be the same, there will be some noticeable changes. Starting around the second and third chapter. I hope you like the changes!
The Watchtower
November 1st, 10:45 pm
"That aside, we have received intel that Queen Bee is planning-" Batman was cut off by a large wind that swirled within the watchtower. A large blue white portal made of pure energy opened in the middle of the Justice League meeting room. A girl carrying a ukulele and a backpack fell out of it. She was small with dirty blonde hair and was wearing a black domino mask with white eyes that was similar to Robin's.
But what caught everyone's attention was the growing red stain on her left shoulder.
She was gasping as if she was having trouble breathing. She fell to her knees and began coughing. She gasped weakly for air before falling unconscious. Batman was there before anyone had time to react. He attempted to pry her fingers off of her belongings, but her grip was like iron. Batman picked her up bridal style, baggage and all and began walking out of the room.
"Meeting adjourned. I'll take her to the medbay. When she wakes up, I want answers."
And with that, the Dark Knight disappeared from view.
"Um," Flash said weakly. "What just happened?"

The Watchtower
November 2nd, 6:14 am
I blinked open my eyes. What was happening? Why was I dizzy? I quietly lifted a hand to my head. I felt a mask around my eyes. What?
The events from the previous day came crashing down on me. The stupid CPS people and their stupid slogans that they take way too seriously.
I closed my eyes and breathed slowly through my nose. I heard voices. I cracked my eyes open and looked around carefully. It looked like I was in some kind of hospital, but that didn't make any sense. There was a row of beds next to mine and way too much fancy equipment for one hospital room. A few feet to my right was a group of four people dressed up in weird costumes. The were dressed up like Batman, Superman, Flash, and Martian Manhunter. I raised an eyebrow. I must be in a children's hospital where they take their jobs a little too seriously.
"I cannot read her mind or learn who she is until she wakes up," the one dressed like MM said. I cleared my throat softly. Batman whirled around, clearly startled, because he threw a batarang at me. I calmly cocked my head as it flew past and embedded itself in the wall next to my ear where it sat slightly vibrating.
I turned my head to inspect it and pulled it out of the wall. I fingered the edge. It was real. Or, at least, it was sharp. "I'm keeping this. Souvenir." I was realieved to notice my backpack and ukulele sitting next to me on the ground next to my bed.
"My apologies," Batman said. "I've been on edge all day. Who are you?"
"Where am I?" I countered.
"Who are you?"
"Where am I?"
"Who are you?"
"Where am I?"
"Who are you?"
"Where am I?"
"Who are you?"
"Where am I? And if you don't answer me, I'm not saying another thing."
The other three had been watching our banter like a tennis match.
Batman growled. "You're in the Watchtower's medbay. You were shot."
I raised an eyebrow. "No, duh, Sherlock. I was there. How long did it take you to figure that one out? Look, I appreciate the fact that you nurses take your job so seriously, you dress up and pretend to be superheroes for the kids, but I'm fourteen. You don't have to pretend to be cartoon characters. You can drop the act. I get this is a children's hospital, but still."
Flash and Superman exchanged looks. "Young lady, I assure you that we are very much the real deal," Superman told me. I raised an eyebrow unimpressed. "Look, I don't have time for this. I need to get home. So thanks, but salutations." I hopped out of the bed and grabbed my things.
I walked out but was stopped by the guy who was dressed like the Flash. How did he get there so fast? I must have missed it.
"Look, you can't just walk out of here. We need to ask you some questions. Let's go back inside now, okay?" I frowned. "Look. Nice job acting, you can drop the act. I'm done. The Justice League doesn't exist. It's a cartoon, fantasy. Please get out of my way."
Flash gaped at me. "What do you mean the League doesn't exist?" I glared at him a little. "Look, I'll humor you. Barry Allen, would you be so kind as to move out of the way?"
And with that I slipped around Flash before he could stop me.
As I walked down the hall, I passed quite a few more nurses dressed up. They gave me odd looks, but no one lingered. I was halfway down the hallway when I heard, "Stop her!"
I turned around to see Batman pointing at me. "Of all the days," I muttered and grabbed my blow gun that was thankfully still in my bag.
There was still one nurse in the hallway dressed as Black Canary. "Hey, let's just go back and it'll all be okay," she told me. "So you can restrain me?" I asked. "Well, let's not put it that way," she muttered and walked slowly towards me. "Thanks, but no thanks," I said and shot her with a dart. She fell unconscious to the floor.
I climbed into the air vent that was thankfully just big enough for me.
After several wrong turns and retracing my steps, I climbed out into an open-aired courtyard. Or is it open space? Because in front of me was the earth. My eyes widened. This wasn't some kind of costume convention after all.
I walked over to the zeta tubes and frowned. I needed to be in the system or have a code to get through. A thought popped into my head. "Override code RG4," I told the computer as it scaned me. "Access granted, override code RG4," the computer announced. I was about to step through when a strong hand grabbed my arm and held me in some kind of judo position.
"Young lady, please don't move. If you do, you will break your arm, and I don't think you want that to happen," a voice says in my ear. I turned to see Batman pulling out a pair of hand cuffs. "Just my luck," I grumbled.
Batman marched me down into the hall. "What day is it?" I asked Batman. "November second," he told me gruffly as we were walking. "How old is Robin right now?" I asked, trying to figure out which reality and what time period I was in. Batman gave ma a strange look. "He's thirteen. You should know that." I shrugged.
A smirk fixed itself over my face. If I was right, the Halloween fiasco had just occurred. That is, if I was right about which reality I was in. But I was almost positive. Why else would there be zeta tubes, and why would Robin's override code have worked if I wasn't in the reality I suspected I was in? Time for some fun.
Batman sat me down at a table. I noticed a one way mirror and a security camera. Perfect. If I was correct, a certain bird would be spying on us, and hopefully a certain archer and magician was watching over his shoulder.
"Name?" Batman asked.
"Secret."
He raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything. "Age?"
"Secret?"
"How did you get here?"
"Secret."
"Why were you carrying a backpack and a ukulele?"
"Secret." By now, my resolve to not laugh was breaking.
"How did you receive Robin's override code?"
"Secret."
"Where are you from?"
"Secret," I snickered.
"How did you know the Flash's secret ID?"
"Secret," I giggled.
"How much about the League do you know?"
"Secret!" I full out laughed. "Secret, secret, secret!"
Zatanna and Artemis burst through the door. I cracked up. I was right about the reality I was in.
"Greta?" Artemis asked confused. "Why are you here? Your secret is out, your brother is in jail, and we gave you a proper burial." I shook my head. "Greta?" Batman asked. "See, Artemis and I had a girl's night on Halloween, and we ran into this ghost named Great that could only say 'secret'," Zatanna told Batman as Artemis undid the hand cuffs.
"And how did you know I was interrogating her?" Batman asked. The girls started blushing and stammering when I cut in. "Probably because a certain little hacker bird hacked the security mainframe to the Watchtower because he was bored and because you told him about me and he was curious, and as he was watching the feeds, Artemis and Zatanna walked in and saw me over his shoulder. Which I was counting on." I stood up and grabbed my laptop from my bag. Time to test my theory.
I looked up to see them staring at me with open mouths. "What?" I shrugged. "Am I right?"
"Greta?" Artemis managed. I smirked and shook my head. "Nah. I did hear about that adventure, though. Well, actually, I saw it. But that's a story for another time." Batman sent the girls out with a look and muttered in his com link about how Robin needed to get off the feeds so he could interrogate me in private.
"Who are you?" Batman asked. I opened my mouth to tell him my name and paused. After this there was no going back. It's not that I liked my name, it was just that if I gave it to him, it would... what? Give away my ID? I doubted I existed in this dimension anyway. Focus! I told myself and desperately thought of what to say.
"Well?" he asked. "I know," I frowned. "I'm just trying to figure out how much I should tell you. Batman raised an eyebrow underneath the cowl. "Explain."
"Where I'm from, you guys are cartoons, comics, games, and movies. You don't exist. You're fantasy. There are also different story lines. I think I figured out which story line this is as well as where we are in that timeline. Tell me, does Martian Manhunter have a niece, is there a Superman clone out there, and there wouldn't happen to be a group of super powered teens hiding out under the Justice League's old base would there?" I asked. A sharp nod was the only answer I received.
I blew out some air from my cheeks. "Good," I said. "Good?" Batman asked. I smiled sheepishly.
"Well, we might be in the reality that a show called Young Justice is set up in. It might have kind of been my favorite to the point of obsession. And I'm talking obsession. I did fan fic, fan art, cosplay, memorize scripts, the works. Obsessed. I was even to the point that I wrote down every mission that happened, who was involved, a summary, time, places, dates, everything on a document on my laptop that I'm currently looking at," I gestured to the screen in my lap.
"I know it's weird, but again, obsessed. And seeing as it's coming in handy right now and I'm talking to the most paranoid man on earth..." I trailed off. Batman cleared his throat. "Right! Sorry. Anyway, the thing is, right now, the show is much further along in the timeline. Robin, well, um, Ni-, sorry, can't tell you that, anyway, he's about eighteenish. And seeing as where we are," I scrolled through my list. "Halloween just happened, so the next fiasco is happening," I looked up. "In three days."
Batman raised an eyebrow. "I don't have a mission for them." I waved the statement away. "It'll be sudden. Very sudden. Like not there one minute and appears the next. Trust me." Batman nodded.
"How much do you know? About the League and the Team."
I frowned slightly. "Everything. IDs, families, heritage, seemingly inconsequential details, problems, secrets, everything. Literally everything." Batman was quite for a few minutes, thinking. "You will be joining the Team," he said finally. I shrugged. "Fine by me. The show focused on them anyway, so I don't think I would be too much of a help to the League, except for the instances when the League and Team team up." Inside, I was going completely fangirl, jumping up and down, squealing. I was joining the Team!
"You never told me your name," Batman noted. I smirked.
"My name is Angelina Carter, but you can call me Glimpse."
