Hello, this is my first shot at a fanfiction. Hope all goes well...
Disclaimer: I do not own Percy Jackson, the Heroes of Olympus series, and Sebastian from The Little Mermaid.
Annabeth woke up, gasping, her hand flying to her chest. She couldn't overcome the sense of dread and despair she had. She slipped out of bed, and crept out of her bed room. Her feet padding down the hallway, walking the path she had walked a million times through the darkness.
'This is the last time, I promise.' Annabeth thought, knowing that she had already broken the promise more times than she could count. But she had to make sure, to see if she wasn't just hallucinating. That these past few weeks have just been a cruel joke and she was still at Camp Half-blood.
She opened the door as quietly as she could, wincing whenever she thought she had heard a little squeak coming from the hinges. She made a mental note to fix that later. She sneaked in, trying not to disturb the occupant of the room. By the dim light of the blue dolphin alarm clock, she could see Percy's face.
Okay, she knew that it seemed stalkerish, but she couldn't help it. After months of worrying where Percy was, she couldn't settle into the fact that Percy was here, with her. She stared at his face for a few moments longer, trying to take in everything about him. His dark hair, with the streak of grey in his hair, matching hers. His necklace which still had her father's ring on it, his drool, she smiled at the thought of her first words towards him. 'He probably expected something else, whatever he could come up with.'
And the peace on his face, it was rare when he didn't have a nightmare foretelling of events to come.
Feeling as if she overstayed than she should've, Annabeth slowly got up and started to walk away.
However freezing, as she heard a drowsy voice. "Annabeth, are you in owl pajamas?"
She stopped. Of course the first thing her boyfriend questions is her pajamas. She turned around and said exasperated. "Really Seaweed Brain, I'm in your room and the first thing you ask me is about my pajamas? Which in defense, you're wearing ones covered in cartoon fishes."
"Hey, this is Sebastian you're talking about!" Percy said defensively, as if talking about a talking, singing crustacean made it better. "Anyways, yeah, why are you here?"
Annabeth racked her brain for an excuse. "It's because I came here to- to collect your clothes, its laundry day."
"Yeah, right, I think I know the real reason you were here," Percy said. "It's because you... wanted to have a pillow fight with me!" He grinned childishly, making Annabeth's heart flutter and drop at the same time.
Percy must've noticed because he then said. "Hey, is everything okay?"
She nodded, but averted her eyes from him, "Yeah, everything is fine."
"Hey, you know I'll always be here for you, unless some divine force is keeping me from you. It's gonna take a lot for you to get rid of me." Percy reassured her. Of course Annabeth knew this, Percy was the most loyal dolt she ever knew.
"Yeah, I know." She gave a small kiss on the side of his cheek.
"Great! Now how about that pillow fight?" Percy grabbed two pillows, handing one to Annabeth, her expression lifted as they both laughed and started attacking each other with pillows. Later they snuck into the rest of the Seven's room and engaged them into a fight as well. Annabeth forgot for that one night what she had been dreading the past nights.
That maybe someday, Percy won't be there anymore for her.
Sorry about the title, sucks I know. Anyways, hope you enjoyed it.
Farewell,
HOTP
