"What are you doing?" you ask, an eyebrow raised.

She doesn't reply, pulling you hastily along. You stumble behind her.

It's not until Nico makes an abrupt right turn that you realise where she's bringing you. "Why are we going to the planetarium?"

Again, she remains quiet. Briefly, you wonder whether it's normal for someone to drag you out of your house at ten at night and bring you the nearby planetarium.

"Get changed and get the hell out of there," Nico had instructed after banging wildly on your front door. You had no option but to oblige.

Finally, Nico reaches her destination, you in tow. "Are you sure it's not closed?" you inquire. But she seems to know what she's doing; your senior points to the sign beside the entrance – open twenty-four hours on Fridays. How convenient, you think.

Nico instructs you to pay for the entry ("Whoops, I forgot to bring my wallet!") and you do so before she pulls you in once again.

There's not much inside, really, but you enjoy looking at the constellations that fill the ceiling. And, despite the fact that you've been here countless times, being beside Nico seems to make your heart pound even faster.

You sit down on a seat, Nico on the chair beside yours. You and her are alone in the huge room – sans the guide – and you feel yourself focusing on the fact that Nico is beside you, and oh god, it's getting hot in here.

You tune out the guide's explanation on the constellations (you know everything off by heart, anyway), and you're glad Nico is paying attention to him – after all, the thumping of your heart against your ribcage is obnoxiously loud. Why did Nico even bring you out here in the first place? Why is her hand almost touching yours? Why are you so nervous?

"Geez, that was boring," Nico scoffs, walking out of the room beside you.

You blink. "It was?" You were sure she was paying attention.

"Actually, it was pretty interesting," your senior admits, "but you were fidgeting non-stop, so I guess you thought it was boring?"

Damn it, you think, was it that obvious?

At your silence, Nico face-palms, "Ahh, I totally forgot! How stupid of me! You like constellations – of course you would've been here many times! Of course it was boring to you! I'm so sorry for draggin you here!"

"Ehh...what?" Though it was partially true, it wasn't exactly accurate. "No, it's fine – huh?"

You turn your head to see that Nico isn't paying attention to you, but the sky instead. "Whoa," you hear her breathe.

You lift your head up as well, and let out a little gasp. The night sky was filled with stars, shining brightly above you and her. Nico has a determined look on her face, squinting at the mess of stars.

"Uhh," she points to a constellation, "is that that Southern Cross?"

You laugh, "No, silly," – you hold her wrist, moving it to point at the significant cross that was easily distinguishable, – "that's the Southern Cross."

For a while, both of you stay like that, your hand on hers, pointing at the unique constellation in the sea of stars.

Nico speaks up suddenly, "One day, I'll be the brightest star in the world."

You smile softly. "You already are."
