Prologue

Starclan stared down horrified at Tigerstar. This was never supposed to happen.. Bluestar thought. "I can't believe I once defended this cat from Goosefeather." Bluestar mewed.

She hung her head, while Goosefeather muttered, "I told you so." "Be quiet, Goosefeather." She mewed. Bluestar stared down at Firestar, her former apprentice, as well as her last.

He looked scared, and well, hopeless. A tiny flare of hope sprang in her heart as the cats attacked. If I bring back time, Redtail would still be alive, I would still be alive, Stonefur would be alive and Brindleface too! Bluestar watched as Whitestorm died.

She sighed. And him too. Whitestorm would be alive. This is all Thistleclaw's fault! Bluestar flinched as she remembered that horrid cat. Suddenly, she felt much stronger. "I will turn back time. No matter what anyone says." She whispered.

Bluestar raced down the lighted pathways, and jumped over a stream. She stopped in front of the Starclan leader, Starfire. Starfire's gray coat glowed silver, and her amber eyes gleamed.

"What do you want, Bluestar?" She smiled. Bluestar stepped back shyly. "Starfire, If I bring back time, I would still be alive, Redtail, Stonefur, Brindleface, and Whitestorm would be too!"

Starfire smiled sympathetically, as if she had gone through this before with someone. Starfire shifted, and sighed. "Your father wanted to do the same thing." She mewed.

"He wanted to live his life 'right' and be together with you, Snowfur, and Moonflower," Starfire stared into the distance. "He wanted to bring back time, to save your mother's life." her heart grew cold.

She remembered the day he had left my mother's side for Dappletail in the battle. If it wasn't for him, she would still be alive. "But, I told him no. All cats die for a reason. Fate brings them to their death."

Starfire grinned. "I knew you'll never believe in fate, Bluestar." "Never have never will." Bluestar agreed. Suddenly, Starfire became serious. "But no. do not bring back time."

"But..but…but!" I mumbled. "Be gone." Starfire flicked her tail, and Bluestar disappeared. Anger grew inside of her. "I will not be turned down!"

With that, Bluestar used all her might to turn back time. She felt herself falling into shadow.
