Every since Marinette got her kwami she was terrified of getting hurt. She had been growing confident and less afraid until one battle.
Marinette was on her way to school when she slammed into someone, stumbling into the incoming traffic. She felt a hand wrap around her waist and pull her close before the inevitable. Marinette took a deep breath, and she recognized that smell. She looked up to see Adrien. Her face flushed, so she took a step back. "Thank you so much A-Adrien," she stuttered. Adrien's face grew red. He smiled at her. "No problem, who doesn't love saving the day," he said as he walked away with his signature little wave. If only people knew, she thought. Little did she know this was the day that would change everything.
She crossed the street and arrived at school. She sighed and walked in to her home room. Chloe was too obsessed with her nails to insult her. Maybe today won't be so bad, she thought. About 20 minutes into home room, screaming came from the hall. A student was akumatized! She was able to turn things to steel with just one touch. She had a long, metal rod she used as a sword. "The akuma," Marinette whispered to herself. She started run out when Rose started crying. "Marinette you can't go!" Marinette felt a ping of guilt. "I'll be fine!" she said as she ran to the bathroom. "Tikki! Spots on!"
Ladybug ran out of the bathroom only to see Chat Noir standing there, twirling his belt. "Hey bugaboo. Had to pee before saving the day?" He joked. Ladybug's face turned as red as her suit. "S-Shut up Chat," she stuttered. Chat felt like something was familiar, but his thought was broken when metal shards shot in between them. They huddled behind a locker. "I'll try to get the rod, if you distract her," said Ladybug. Chat nodded and set the plan into motion. Chat was hopping around the place as Ladybug tiptoed over to her, inches from the akuma. Ladybug felt a sharp pain. The end of the rod was stuck in her abdomen. She ripped the rod out of the girl's hand. There was a locket clutched in the girl's other hand. Ladybug still had the rod inside her gut. "LADYBUG!" Chat yelled as he scooped her up. He took her into an empty, abandoned classroom. Ladybug was groaning in pain and crying. "Marinette I'm ok but you aren't," said Tikki. Marinette didn't realize Tikki could talk to her through her. Chat was shaking and trying not to cry. "Marinette please say spots off so I can help." Marinette thought about her options. "T-Tikki s-spots off," she said as she started up at Chat. She looked down to see the metal rod still in her gut. Her shirt soaked in blood. "Chat Noir, remove the rod," said Tikki. "This might hurt."
