Sophie leaned into her husband's chest, breathing in his scent.

"Good morning, my love," Robert whispered, pressing a kiss to Sophie's forehead.

Sophie blushed, and looked away. As bold as his wife was, he knew that under the strong walls she'd built around herself, on the inside she was as shy and insecure as everyone else.

"There's nothing more beautiful than you," Robert whispered into her brown hair.

A few minutes later, she looked up at him. "Do you mean it?"

Robert looked down at her in surprise. "Of course I mean it, Sophie. You're the best thing that ever happened to me."

A tear slowly slid down Sophie's cheek. "Thank you Robert."

"For what?"

"For making me feel like this. For your love, for... For everything?" She started to cry against his chest.

He held her close, periodically pressing kisses to her forehead or the top of her head.

About 10 minutes later, when Sophie's tears had subsided, she moved from Robert's chest. She wrapped her arms around his neck, and moved her lips to his.

"Sophie," he breathed. "Love you."

"Love you too," she whispered back, burying her head into his neck. Robert smiled, lightly stroking her hair as they both slowly fell back to sleep.
