Sakura's POV
Rain tapped on my window as I yawned loudly. It's been kinda boring in Konoha lately. Nothing really happens anymore. I don't get to go on as many missions as before since I'm a medic now. God, I feel like I'm going to end up getting cabin fever just by staying in this town. How do you think I feel? I'm just stuck inside your head all day. Oh shut up. I started to doze off when suddenly I heard a knock at my door. "Coming!" I groaned.
I opened the door and was staring at an Anbu. What is this about? "Lady Tsunade wishes to see you immediately," said the anbu. I nodded and we both went to the tower.
.:~:.
When I got to Lady Tsunade's office, she was looking out the window grimly. My heart started beating a bit faster. It's been a while since I've seen her look so distressed. "Sakura..." Lady Tsunade trailed off. "Yes, m'lady?" I waited for her to continue, heart still racing. "I have a very important mission for you. You may decline if you wish, I will understand." There was a long pause again. "What is the mission?" I asked nervously. She stared at me for a long time, "I want you to infiltrate the Akatsuki. I have a feeling they're planning something very bad again and we need someone on the inside." My eyes widened and I broke out in a cold sweat. My heart skipped a beat. The air felt so heavy. I was speechless.
"As I said, you may decline." She reminded me.
"Hai. But, I accept." I said, confidently.
"Needless to say, this mission is top secret and no one is to know about this except for you, me, and the anbu that brought you here," she said sternly.
"Yes, m'lady. How shall I go about doing this mission?" I asked.
"Take a walk in the woods just outside the north gate tomorrow morning. I will send five anbu to arrest you. Run. Don't fight them. That should be enough to get their attention," she instructed. "Hai!" I said. "Good luck, Sakura..." she said. "Thank you, shishou," I bowed and she walked to me and embraced me.
"Sakura... Thank you... You are the best person for this job, because you were my apprentice and one of the best medic ninjas to ever live. Please be careful."
I smiled and nodded, bowed again, and left.
When I got back to my apartment, I packed everything I needed. This was my last night in this apartment. My home. My village. With my friends. My... life. Be careful what you wish for, I guess...
I had to say goodbye to everything... It was silent in my apartment. The only noise was from the crickets outside.
I felt a single tear roll down my cheek. I clenched my jaw, trying so hard to stop the other tears that were threatening to spill over. My face reddened and I looked down. Naruto wont ever forgive me. He would have lost me as well as Sasuke... the tears started streaming down my face. Don't worry, Naruto. Little do you know, you'll never lose me. I'm so sorry. I exhaled shakily.
I laid on my bed and stared at my ceiling just letting the tears fall freely. Eventually I lost track of time and cried myself to sleep.
The sun had just come up as I was leaving my apartment. I didn't want to run into anyone otherwise I might lose it and start sobbing... I took my time leaving the village though. Who knows when I'll be back. IF you'll ever be back. I clenched my fist at my inner's thoughts.
I got to the North Gate, and as Lady Tsunade told me to, I went for a walk outside the walls of Konoha. The trees swayed with the wind and some of the leaves were carried away. I'm going to miss autumn in Konoha. I'm going to miss Konoha in general... I felt chakra signatures moving towards me. Here we go.
"Haruno Sakura."
I turned to see five anbu, just as she said. "Hai."
"You are under arrest by order of Lady Tsunade. You are to come with us," demanded the anbu.
Someone kill me now.
I pretended to be surprised. I spun around and ran as fast as I could, channeled a shit ton of chakra to my feet, and took off. I glanced back quickly. They were fast. Light rhythmic tapping could be heard from us jumping from tree to tree. I jumped on tree branches, ran over rivers, and dodged their weapon attacks until I was finally able the border.
My legs gave out from exhaustion and I flopped onto the ground. I rolled over to look behind me to find nothing. Once I crossed the border, they stopped chasing me. They couldn't do anything. I made it! OH yeah! Ive never been so tired. Tell me about it. Okay, shut up inner. I need to find a small inn to spend the night.
I arrived in a small town. The streets were empty. I've never felt so alone. I trudged through the town, searching for an inn. You know, to trudge? The slow, weary, depressing yet determined walk of a woman who has nothing left in her life except the impulse to simply soldier on. (A/N: If you know where that's from, just know I love you). All the lights were off in the houses. My chest hurt so much. I felt sick to my stomach. My eyes began watering as I thought about everyone I've left behind. I began to regret accepting the mission. They'll never see me the same way again... They think I've abandoned them. That I'm a traitor. Worthless. I found an alle and just slid down the wall and passed out from exhaustion.
.:~:.
I woke up to the sound of someone screaming. I stumbled to sit up and my vision was blurred at first, but then I was able to focus on a woman. There were people crowded behind her. She was looking at me. "N-no wait! It's oka-" A man stepped in front of her. "Get out of our town! We don't want filthy traitorous scum like you here!" He threw a rock at me. The other villagers took the hint and started throwing anything they could get their hands on. I scrambled backwards and got on my feet to get out of there.
How did the news spread so quickly? It isn't that common to see a girl with pink hair. Shut up. It was rhetorical. It's just you and me now. No need to get all pissy.
.:~:.
A few days later...
I walked along a dirt road. It's been tough... being a missing nin. My feet dragged across the dirt road. Please come soon, Akatsuki. I need a place to stay. I need to have people to talk to. It sucks being alone, I thought. Do you believe in coincidences? I never did. Until now.
"Finally, we fucking found you."
I turned around. Akatsuki. Finally. Stop complaining. It's been what. Three days? Oh SHUT. UP.
Two members stood before me. One had silverish white hair and had his cloak ope- ooh. a six pack.. I drooled a little. WAIT. What am I talking about? He's an akatsuki member! I mentally slapped myself and averted my eyes. He also held a scythe-type weapon. The second had a mask on. And a hat on. All I could see were his eyes, which were an eerie color. I shivered a little.
"Pink hair. Who the fuck dyes their hair pink?" spat the guy with the silver hair as he gave me a nasty look.
"UHM. HELLO. It's natural, you stupid old fart."
He was taken aback. And then looked a little offended and hurt. "I may have silver hair, but I'm not old," he mumbled grumpily, but smirked after a couple seconds, "that's even more fucked up that it's natural, but sexy."
I blushed and looked the other way. Someone's acting like a little girl. SHUSH. You're right though. I can't let some guy control my feelings like this. Ridiculous.
"Anyways, you are coming with us," said the guy with the mask. "And if I don't?" I asked.
"We fight you, DUH," the guy with the silver hair said. I'm too tired to fight, I thought, nevertheless, I'm going with them. "Fine," I spat. The guy with the silver hair smirked, "That's what I thought. Oh and I'm Hidan by the way, and this piece of shit is Kakazu," he jabbed a finger towards the other guy. I nodded. Hidan looked at me expectedly. "Well? Let's GOOO."
...
I held my arms out. He moved away from me and looked confused. "What the fuck is that? What are you even doing?" He sounded annoyed.
"I'm tired," I pouted. I had to wait this long so I'm not moving until they carry me. I attempted to sit on the floor but in the blink of an eye, I was being carried bridal-style by Hidan. I blushed furiously, and he just HAAAD to notice. "You asked for this, so don't start blushing." He smirked. I just looked away and pouted again. I didn't actually expect he'd carry me. Oh but you're glad he is. SHUSH. We don't have to point these things out, ya know.
Even worse, as I said before, his cloak was half open. He was so warm, and he had a six pack, and- SNAP OUT OF IT! I can't think like that! But I had a hard time not just snuggling up to him. I just casually pretended to fall asleep while he was jumping from tree to tree. I felt his gaze on me when he felt my breathing even out. Since I was "asleep," I "cuddled" closer to him on "accident." I felt his heartbeat quicken. I mentally laughed. Let's tease him. Sounds good. Muahaha! I squirmed until I basically was facing him and I grabbed onto his cloak. It beat faster and I felt him getting hot. I nuzzled my face in his chest and sighed deeply. This is too good. KARMA BISH. And then I actually ended up falling asleep...
.:~:.
We must've arrived at the base because he dropped me. I hit the ground and winced in pain. I got up slowly while Hidan glared at me. He was obviously embarrassed. I mentally high-fived my inner. "We're at the fucking base now," he said with such a serious, monotone voice. "We are at the fucking base now," I mocked in a low voice. I giggled like a little girl in a candy store.
He turned around in an instant and slapped me across the face so hard that I hit the ground. Again. He looked over at me furiously. "I'm so- sorry! Wait! Don't-" I tried to block him from hitting me, but his foot connected with my head. Kakazu couldn't help me, he already left. He took his foot off and stomped on my ribs. I coughed up blood. I was too tired to fight. I looked at him with sorry eyes. He gave me a death glare.
He cut himself. What is he doing? He jumped away from me and drew some weird sign on the ground.
He slowly walked to me, smirking. He stabbed me with his scythe in my stomach. I winced and screamed in pain. His whole body turned black and white and he moved back to stand in the sign on the ground, which was a triangle surrounded by a circle.
He took out a long pointed sword-looking thing. "Let's experience the punishment of Jashin!" he screamed, then gave a crazy laugh. He stabbed his left shoulder blade. I screamed, and felt my shoulder blade hurt too. "Does that hurt? Aww. I'm so sorry," he mocked. He twisted it in deeper. I screamed at the top of my lungs.
Suddenly, I saw Itachi appear behind him and put a hand on his shoulder, "Leader-sama ordered you to stop. She's joining the Akatsuki and that means no more hurting her. We heard her screaming all the way inside the base." He looked at me, as I just laid on the ground, not wanting to move. It hurt too much.
"Leader-sama wishes to see you, Sakura."
Until next time... JA NE!
