"On vacation I see, Miss Tam?"
The first person I came across, after a wild ride through one of those steal your breath and make you sick worm holes, happened to be Sherlock Holmes and those eyes of his were busy studying me.
(my own were doing the very same, both prodigies from very different worlds)
"Why yes I am, Sherlock, I'm quite a ways from my home."
I did not care if I was caught in this world, I could after all dance my way out of anything, (lets hope they aren't prone to witch burnings), because it was rather run to say his name, it rolled off my tongue perfectly.
"And where would that home happen to be, Miss Tam?"
Instead of being shocked that his name came that easily to me, he knew mine right away also thanks to the name tag Simon gave me (trying so damn hard to stop me from leaving him), he was a calm as I was.
(when I left him I gave him a kiss on the forehead and said 'it's just a few days away from the nest, darling, don't let those feathers of yours get all ruffled')
"In another dimension aboard a very shiny ship or Chicago if that makes more sense and Sherlock please call me River."
It took all of me from giggling as I said his name over and over again in my cluttered brain and as came tumbling off my lips once again.
"River, I'm going to ignore all the space ship nonsense, I'm not that sane myself sweetheart, and give you a tour of London and all of her beauty. What do you say, space girl?"
I could tell that it would take a lot of time and persuading before this detective believed a single word about my life and that lovely ship of mine but I was going to have loads of fun doing it.
"I say, Sherlock, we better go before I get swept away and go on to lead that science fiction life of mine."
