A/N: This was a writing exercise, an almost-all dialogue fic. It's a college AU, and the first thing I've written and posted in a while.
"Listen! Listen, Kanda! This is cool!"
There was a sigh from behind the pile of books that separated them. "What is it?"
"Kanda, I have to show you this. Some of these animals-"
"Lavi, if I don't finish this assignment by class, I'm telling the professor to come after you."
"But Kanda! Real fast-"
"Finish your work. Quit goofing off."
"I'm done though. I want to show you something."
"Work on something for tomorrow then."
"Oh, come on! It'll be quick, I promise! Just let me-" The books on the table started to slide sideways.
"Move those books and I will destroy that essay you worked so hard on. Let me finish my work."
"You've got to be done by now, though! Come on, at least let me look it over."
"And let you lose it like you did the last one? No."
"You're sitting right there! How could I lose it? I swear I'll give it back."
A sigh. "Fine. Proofread this, then show me whatever you wanted to show me."
A happy yelp. "Thanks!"
