Chapter 1
She heard a knock on the door. But that couldn't be real! Lavender had not once heard a knock before. It was probably just another side affect. She twitched.
"Knock knock"
There it was again! She twitched and started walking toward the door. Through the cracked, moldy window she saw a boy. He was short and fat with bushy black hair. WHO IS HE! She started feeling scared but she knew it was just the boy's emotions. she decided to open the door, Just a crack.
"Who are you?" she whispered
"Um, hi my name is Steven!" he said nervously but still cheerfully.
She looked him over a second time, he looked like a human, And not to mention pretty harmless. She opened the door a little wider.
"What do you want?" she asked somewhat harshly.
"Well you see, I was practicing my warping, which is a thing my kind can do, and I discovered this cool place! Then I saw this empty house and..."
She cut him off, "Warping? Are, are you a gem?" she asked. She didn't know if she was excited or scared.
"Uhh well I'm actually half gem. "He said. Lavender could tell he was smiling.
"Do you know Rose Quarts?"
"Ohm well that's a long story but I sort of am rose quarts."
She couldn't believe what she was hearing. That was ridiculous. Rose was a tall lady; this was just a fat kid!
She opened the door. Suddenly she felt extremely embarrassed but she knew it was the boy. "What?" she asked very bluntly.
"Oh! It's um nothing. Are you a gem?" he asked, lavender could tell he already knew the answer.
"yes." She said. Lavender hadn't had company in awhile and even though she didn't like people she was somewhat lonely and maybe a cheerful young kid was just what she needed. "Do you want to come in?" she asked trying to sound inviting.
"Okay!" he said, walking by lavender into what she called her home. Well not exactly her home but where she lived. It looked like a shack but on the inside it was really nice.
"So Rose," She started, "how did you find me, and why do you look like a human boy?" she was so confused and worried that they had found her.
"Well, actually im Rose's son. My dad is a human and obviously you know what my mom was."
"her son!" she exclaimed! "gems can't have sons!" she had to sit down. "anyway," he continued, "whats your story and ur name?''
"my name is Lavender Chalcedony," she said still sumwhat confused ," I live here⦠BUT YOU CANT TELL ANYONE!" she shouted.
Steven looked a little scared but quikely got over it. "why not?" he asked quietly knowing that yhis may be a sencitive topic.
"because I ran away." She said quietly.
"from what?" he asked.
" well," she said smiling, "its sort f a long story, are you sure you want to hear it?"
Steven suddenly looked very interested. He sat down on the floor of the small room. "I LOVE stories!" he exclaimed.
Lavender hadn't seen this kind of enthusiasm from anybody in a long while. It's been a long time since she smiled like she was now too. "ok then as long as you've got time."
Chapter 2
Lavender Chalcedony walked to her next patient, "And you are?" she asked
"Cassiterite." The gem struggled to say. Lavender typed that on her computer.
"Cause of injury?" she spoke in her monotone voice.
"training." The gem spoke looking bored but obviously in need of assistance. Her gem had cracked and needed it to be healed by a healing gem. At the moment her limbs were hanging of strings and her face looked concave.
After lavender had finished typing into her computer she bent down to take a closer look at the slightly shorter gem's belly to look at her stone. It was indeed cracked. She grabed a hold of the other gems back and brought the stone to her lips. She gently kissed it and after a few seconds it formed back together. Cassiterite immediately went back to normal. She was taller than 5 feet but still an inch or two shorter that lavender.
"Thank you" said the black gem.
