Sorry for leaving you all in suspense. You see, I have been out of state. I have also left my notebook with all my stories in it in an undetermined location. Basically, it's been stolen. Happy, now? The next chapter for When God's Attack was about Neal and Kel, but that NOW has to be rewritten. To compensate, I'm putting on this story I wrote in my spare time this year for Theater Arts. A Friend's Worst Fears
Both Kel and Neal are out walking and "surprisingly" meet up with each other. Neal: hi, Kel! Kel: Hi Neal!
Silence
Neal: Well what are you doing here?Kel: Stutters Oh, I was just… going on a walk.
Silence
Kel: blunders and rushes What are you doing here?Neal: surprised, but quickly covers and stutters Oh, … same thing.
Silence
Kel: So, umm… how's Yuki?Neal: Oh, she's fine. We're having our first child in about 6 months.
Kel: So, …you waited this long too tell me?
Neal: Sorry… You just were never around…You were always gone with Dom…
Silence
Kel: Neal? … Neal: Yes? Kel: sighs How did we end up this way?Neal: What way?
Kel: Yellsthis way! … almost whispers How did we grow so far apart?
Silence
Neal: I don't know.
Kel: Exactly. You don't know, because we haven't tried to work things out. Pauses and takes a deep breath as if to give herself comfort Remember when we were young. Well, I was 10 and you wee 16, but that's besides the point. The point is we were close.
Neal: Aye, I agree. As thick as thieves in a king's dungeon we were, but things have changed.
Silence
Kel: Are you telling me that our friendship means nothing to you?
Silence
Neal: If that's how you interpreted it then yes. But,
Kel: Extremely pissed Oh! So, you just used me to get to Yuki, my only true best-friend?!!!!
Neal: Is shocked by the harshness of her words and stutters No. I didn't mean that! All I meant was-
Kel: Yelling That I was your "Protecter"? Damn you, Nealen of Queenscove!
I damn you to the rites of Hell, and let it rain fire if you don't go there!
Silence
Neal: Darkly, in a near whisper How dare you.
Kel: What was that?!
Neal: How DARE you! When you first came, I welcomed you! When you had sorrows, I knew how to comfort you! voice is steadily rising. when you know nothing, I taught you everything, Damn it!
We were FRIENDS though, because you did the same thing for me! When I unleashed anger, you calmed me. When I was lost my faith, you rebuilt me. And when I would read unbearable poetry I'd made for my crushes, you silently suffered for me.
Silence
Kel: So, … does that mean we were still friends?Neal: looks excited by jolly! I think she's got it!
Silence
Kel: giggles
Neal: What?
Kel: Well, …that was pretty childish of us…
Neal: looks like he's thinking about it. Starts laughing lightly. Yeah, …I guess it was…
Silence
Kel: Neal?…Neal: Yes, Keladry, Lady night and Protector of the Small
Kel: I'm sorry
Neal: You know what?
Kel: what?
