Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha or Steven Universe. The story is not following the Steven Universe storyline so that some things may be different from the show but I would try to keep a good majority of it the same. Also, Steven and Connie are best friends nothing more.

Chapter One: Meeting Kagome

Steven walked down the boardwalk. He was now 19 years old and had grown to be as tall as Rose was. His hair was just as curly, and it reached just below his shoulders. It was currently in its usual ponytail.

Looking around he wondered why he felt as if he should be on the boardwalk. It was as if being there would change his life, he could only hope it wouldn't be for the worse.

Sighing when he couldn't find what could be so important to be there he sat down on the bench before getting comfortable.

Looking down at his phone, he continued texting his best friend, Connie.

Connie: Did you find anything?

Steven: Nope just the same old boardwalk :/

Connie: Bummer, you talked to the gems about it?

Steven: Yeah, Amethyst and Pearl said not to worry about it. But Garnet told me to follow my gut. She also said it led my mom to my dad even though Pearl and Amethyst don't know it

Connie: Maybe you're gonna meet your soulmate O.O

Steven: You really think so?

Connie: I know so

"Um, Excuse me I think I'm lost." Steven heard someone say. He looked up to see a beautiful woman looking down at him sheepishly.

"How can I help you miss...?" Steven trailed off with a friendly smile.

"Where are my manners, my name is Kagome. Kagome Tashio." The woman he now knew as Kagome said before bowing. "I'm new around here, and I was looking for a hotel to stay in while they finished building my house. It was supposed to be done today, but the construction workers said something pushed back the date." She said missing Steven wince slightly.

"You can stay with me!" Steven offered with a grin.

"No, no that's fine. I can stay in a hotel. Besides, I wouldn't wanna impose on you." Kagome blushed.

Steven just grinned and waved her off. "I have plenty of room, and besides it's the least I can do since I was the reason your house was pushed back," Steven said the last part sheepishly while standing up.

He immediately noticed that she came up to his chest. He smiled and saw the questioning on her face.

"I'll tell you on the way." Steven smiled as he helped her with her bag. He couldn't help but think that maybe Connie was right and he had met his soulmate.
